Also, I keep hearing people say “the Trekkie fandom is toxic”. These assholes are not really Trekkies. I’ve been to the cons, I’ve been doing reviews and podcasts for nearly a decade. These people weren’t part of the community. They’re showing up now because they’re jumping on a grifter hate train.

So much of what has been levied at the modern shows basically comes down to a simple grievance — Trek moved forward and they didn’t.

It actively offends them.

This isn’t new behaviour, we saw it with other classic shows, but now we get to see just how bad it is and just how ridiculous it gets.
Seriously. "I don't like how she sits in the chair" is one of the most asinine fucking reasons for not liking a TV show I've ever heard.

Palantir all up in your business. Thiel's been telling on himself from the jump.

HAHAHAHA, what a fucking absolute dolt.
Trump: “Dear Prime Minister Carney:

Please let this Letter serve to represent that the Board of Peace is withdrawing its invitation to you regarding Canada’s joining, what will be, the most prestigious Board of Leaders ever assembled, at any time.

Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Just saw a recipe developer on instagram say her favourite carb is a crouton, possibly the most depressing sentence I’ve ever heard. Is it legal to fedex someone a lasagna?

Still amazed by the discovery that when you swing a lantern in ancient caves the cave paintings appear to move and come to life because of lines carefully scribbled over the images. Us humans have been making movies for THIRTY THOUSAND YEARS.

It’s ironic that they’re like “if we do ethnic cleansing we’ll have a high trust neighborly society” and then Minneapolis is literally doing high trust neighborly society and they’re like nooooo
Many Americans are terrible neighbors to each other, and that is why MN is striking everyone as extraordinary activism... when they are telling us that it is not. They're good neighbors!

It's no wonder that "being a shitty neighbor" is the hallmark of our domestic politics and our foreign policy.

Frey has been asked about this way more than Trump has been asked why he has invaded an American city based on false pretenses, where rogue secret police are kidnapping and killing people.
KARL: In the hours after the shooting of Renee Good, you went on national TV and said to ICE, 'get the F out of Minneapolis.' Do you regret that language? That doesn't sound like turning the temperature down

JACOB FREY: I don't regret it at all. If I seemed like I was angry and frustrated, I was.

The answer to Shapiro should have been, "Yes, we said it, and we meant it. There is no excuse for the way ICE is conducting itself, and we should defund the entire agency."

But, no, gargle his balls, Gavin. You fucking spineless toad.

Under her guidance Star Wars took some risks, played it safe, explored new avenues and it didn't alwys work, but when it did it was glorious.
*Outstanding* Star Wars storytelling took place under her aegis, as good as -- and, at times, better than -- the original works. Star Wars grew and evolved, which I assume fulfilled George's vision for the handoff.
