The traditional murder formula requires that all of the motivations and subsequent events make logical sense, and the bad guys get caught.

I’ve been on a real Britbox mystery binge lately and I feel like the other comfort factor of a Cozy Murder is that they frequently acknowledge the ineptitude of the police but posit the existence of alternate independent crime solvers more focused on protecting the innocent than punishing the guilty
