I want people to take precautions so the world is safer for everyone—them, me, others.

I want more people ending chains of transmission, which literally saves lives.
I want you to get vaccinated if you can, for everything that you can, to protect both yourself and those who cannot.

I used to have this argument about the flu shot. People I know were all "well i'm young and in good health so i don't need to." Do you care about anyone who is not those things?!

Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood is to announce Saturday that “the era of permanent protection for refugees” is over in the UK.

She’s also going to say the UK’s borders are “out of control”.

Apart from sounding like a trailer for a Reform government, it’s already causing anger within Labour.
UK set to limit refugees to temporary stays
Shabana Mahmood is expected to say the era of permanent protection for refugees is over, in major changes to the UK's asylum and immigration system.

On a train and there some drunk posh twats. They saved a seat on a train that is standing room only. The pompose self grandising noise is unbearable.

I have not prepared well for my day. I left my coffee on the side, forgot to charge either my tablet or the emergency battery in my bag. I will be buying yet another charger when I reach the train station

Do give blood if you're able to. It's straightforward to do, and the staff are lovely. You still get a drink and biscuit too, even if Clubs aren't what they were ...
They didn't want my blood, but they probably want yours! I went to give blood today, but due to a v minor medical issue they couldn't take it. Yet they told me they do need donors. As I couldn't help by giving, instead, I thought i'd publicise this... www.blood.co.uk

In a general sort of way everyone knew they were going to die, even the common people. No one knew where you were before you were born, but when you were born, it wasn't long before you found you'd arrived with your return ticket already punched.

This is the correct explanation of what happened tonight👇
KBJ threaded the needle thanks to CA1’s unfinished business.

-if she denied the admin stay, the full SCOTUS woulda stepped in to override her.
-if she immediately referred the case to the full Court, they coulda dragged feet.
-instead she boxed them in to act quickly once she does refer the case.

The world would be immensely better if more religions and their believers had even a tenth of the dedication the Sikhs do to doing good for people with no gatekeeping or expectations of anything other than "you are a fellow human in need and we can help you"
Folks, if you are hungry, please contact your local Sikh gurdwara. Or just show up for langar, which most gurdwaras do several times a week, for a free meal. Lots also do weekly or monthly drives giving out groceries.

No conversion necessary. Feeding anyone who is hungry is a key part of Sikhism.
A lady on TikTok has been calling churches pretending to be a mother with a baby who needs formula and several churches turned her away. But wouldn’t you know that when she called a Mosque (Islamic Center of Charlotte) they immediately said yes.

Briefly in my head I thought that Starbucks workers were using military strikes and I just went oh OK, and scrolled on. The world is so weird already that didn't touch the sides
BREAKING: Starbucks workers have just authorized a massive strike.

Union Starbucks baristas voted to authorize the strike by 92%.

Now baristas in over 25 cities could launch an unfair labor practice strike on Thursday, November 13th.

In Finland they’ve been taught how to spot fake news as part of a critical thinking curriculum since 2014 including how to spot a doctored photo, check for inconsistencies as well as countering misinformation that sows division. We are more than 10 years behind on this.
School pupils are to be taught how to tackle conspiracy theories, spot 'fake news' & root out misinformation. The Daily Mail, ajudged by Wikipedia to be an unreliable new source, is furious. You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to work out why.
