Today in restoring our house, we found more of the exciting decisions that were made by the people...

The concrete supporting beam rests on five tiles, on four bricks that just stuck out of the wall, covered by plywood that they hadn't even bothered to cut to size.
A wall with a disaster of a choice. Why make good safe buildi g choices when you can balance a supporting beam on tiles, on the bricks you left to stick out of the wall.

have always supported the freedom to protest. It is a cornerstone of our democracy and has played a vital role in shaping the rights we enjoy today. The Home Secretary’s proposal to proscribe Palestine Action under the Terrorism Act appears to be a serious overreach. Equating a protest group with terrorist organisations such as Hamas or Al Qaeda is deeply disproportionate and risks undermining the very democratic principles we claim to uphold. I am writing to the Home Secretary to ask that she set out the full reasoning behind this proposal and to urge her to reconsider

People on the internet tell me you are interested in what people did in their week, which I think is so lovely. . I went wild swimming - I go to this lake where it is very casual and people are accepting of each other. I often take my son there and I feel safe to do so - you see he is trans and autistic, and although he doesn't notice when people are awful (and they can be truly awful, don't you know?), I notice. This place is warm, accepting and kind. There were cormorants on the lake, and some robins which were lovely. I walked the dog with my husband and talked about how he had to cut someone from his life because they had plummeted into the nazi trap. I was really proud of him because, you know, if one nazi sits at a dinner and nine more sit down with them, there are ten nazis in the room. The intolerance of intolerance is important to make our society safe for those who truly need it. We all need safety, don't we? I worked on my paper - I was writing about the need for care to understand what people have been through when they come through a service. There is a danger, you see, of hurting people again, usually without meaning to. I'm writing to ask a group of people to change how they act to stop hurting people. I apologised to someone I hurt without thinking - taking ownership of our own mistakes is so important, don't you think? Acknowledging when you are wrong and making amends is the sign of a strong person with honour. I took my mothers to visit a city and went to a museum with them. Taking time with both of them before we lose is so important to us. People are the only thing we really have, the only thing worth living for. Treasure the time you have with your loved ones, because you never know when something might happen to take them from you. I know that many of you are equally despairing of the world and, as I sit here far away, I hope you are safe but also that you have found courage to stand up, to put sand in those cogs.

My email to my labour mp.
I am emailing to you appalled at Labours' decision to try to out racist Farage. When I voted for you, I knew you to be a rational, evidence based person with compassion. Where does this campaign to show how horrifically this country can treat immigrants fit into thst picture? Trying to be more awful than racists and fascists is not where I hoped Labour would go, frankly. Between this and the delay on trans policies today, I wonder when the party lost it's way. Do you support both of these positions?
