Another social media, another intro. I’m Jared. I make RPGs, write about motorbike racing and fix servers for a living. You may know me from the other social medias.
Look out @bellingcat.com - I don’t see your Cow Tools level of forensic investigation here.
what if i told you, through the power of forensic analysis, we are closer than ever to knowing the exact Far Side cartoon that is making Sting smile in this iconic photo. 🧵 👇

I’m an old gamer. I used to play online and LAN games back in the 20th century, starting with what became Halo, a Mac game called Marathon.

I have zero interest in online stuff like that now, but every time I see a trailer, I watch it. The aesthetics are bang on.

I won’t play it, but I like it.

Oh hey, @motogirlypops.bsky.social, there's one thing I think you missed about Bulega and Razgatliloglu in GPs for '27: Pirellis.

Bulega can lose the SBK title (he won't) and still get a Ducati ride (It'll be VR46, for my guess) in '27 if he has good tests on the GP Pirellis. New tyres, new game.

The collective noun for two or three white guys is "A Podcast of men", and I say this as a fan of podcasts that feature blokes who look and sound like me, so it's always a good idea to listen to podcasts that don't fall into that description.

Anyway, go listen to @motogirlypops.bsky.social

Every time I hear white supremacists talking about immigrants and refugees diluting the American culture, you never hear about the Japanese culture they’re devouring, hugging their waifu pillows as they argue over four thousand year old dragons in the form of eight year old girls being ‘legal’.

I only learned of James Van Der Beek’s death by people mentioning his wife’s GoFundMe raising a million dollars in 24 hours.

I hate this timeline.

I disagree that the Washington Post is about corporate profits; Bezos bought it to have a hand on the tiller of the news narrative.

He bought it so he gets to tell us what to believe. He’s getting rid of the parts of the paper that don’t play to his needs. Sports? No use to him.
Everything important about journalism is unmeasurable. The vapidity of these buffoons and their salads of words. Everything is 'extraordinary,' 'essential' and empty of values, the only 'success' is corporate profits
Jeff Bezos' statement, his first since last week's layoffs: "The Post has an essential journalistic mission and an extraordinary opportunity. Each and every day our readers give us a roadmap to success. The data tells us what is valuable and where to focus."

My final points on Reform breaking electoral law, they don’t care because nobody will hold them accountable.

But if there were any justice in the world, as unlikely as it is in today’s environment, they’d learn that it’s the cover-up that fucks you.

This sort of thing:
The printers are can't be telling the truth. The imprint wasn’t trimmed off. It wasn’t on the proof. If it was, the letter would be shorter, or the imprint was outside the print area. It’s a cover-up.

This is what happened in 5 posts:

incredible that this isn't a bit

Anyone who knows anything about printing knows the Reform defence of “it was the printers who screwed up” is blatant bollocks. There’s a proofing phase where this would have been caught.

But, as is usual these days, the people who should be pointing this out won’t because they support Farage.
Reform UK are seeking to fob off blame for their illegal leaflet on a printer error. That won’t stand up with the police - responsibility for making sure the law is followed lies with the party commissioning and distributing the leaflets.

This is a political piece, but it has lessons for all writers in how to craft a story that really lands with readers. The focus, the intelligence and the skill stand out a mile in the current pathetic crop of writing on Reform.
