Jonathan Rea’s superlative World Superbike retirement has arrived one race early. He won’t be taking part in race two as he suffered a right knee sprain and contusion in his turn four crash in today’s incident-packed Superpole race.

It’s the last World Superbike race weekend of the year and the title will be decided tomorrow. It’s a pretty safe bet that Toprak Razgatlioglu will claim the title before heading off to MotoGP, but it’s not absolutely certain.

I have a 1997 748, and even back then they were the only bike designed without compromise.

I have no idea. I will try and measure it. I do know my hearing warning was triggered on my ride home, though. I doubt that was all my bike, though.

Loud exhausts on motorbikes won't net you a fail on an MOT. This bike of mine is loud, and yet is legal. I'm not a dick, so I don't ride through residential areas with my bike screaming about how wonderful it is, but I cannot understate how loud it is. It's 28 years old and sounds beautiful.

Hondas, elbow down, dragging corner speed round, showing great form that would be easy to exploit a Yamaha with. Rea would ride the Honda differently, likely getting over the rear tyre sooner and lifting the bike to get more power down.
I think the current Honda riders are riding it wrongly.
