Plus; many of these ICE watch groups are centered around schools, which simultaneously operate as polling places in many cases
A lot of communities have already organized ICE Watch networks, or they are organizing them presently. Might I suggest these *very same networks* can be used for election poll watching.
This is why we need communities to organize systems of election support for voters. We can’t let anyone feel alone and intimidated into not voting.

NEWS: The judge who heard the protesters and press case out of Chicago, Judge Sara Ellis, an Obama appointee, will also be hearing the Illinois v. DHS case as a "related" — though not consolidated — case.
BREAKING Judge Ellis finds that the cases are related, reassigns Illinois v. DHS to be heard by her.

Ellis noted that she has "discretion to reassign under Rule 40.4(a)" and finds that plaintiffs meet 2 and 3.

Given events in Minneapolis, and DJT’s desire for military control, you’re going to want to read up on the Insurrection Act of 1807 (which actually started off in 1792.) The Brennan Center explains:

The Insurrection Act, Explained
The vague and rarely used law gives the president broad power to deploy the military domestically — but it’s not a blank check.

A rules-based international order is in the vital interest of every American.

Every Conservative and every Liberal American.

The poisoning and evisceration of that international order, into “spheres“ of numb strongmen, will harm all Americans in ways we cannot imagine.

The stated reason for ICE agents being in Minnesota is because of the ongoing fraud claims around daycare and other services.

The two prosecutors leading those investigations have now resigned in the wake of Renee Good’s shooting. Even the internal supposed logic of this deployment is falling apart

The Daily had an interview with the MPD chief. They’re getting regular 911 calls because federal agents are leaving cars in the street after detaining people. Local officers are overwhelmed, feel ICE/BP are putting them at risk with dangerous tactics, unraveling progress made since George Floyd.
It's 10am in Minneapolis and rapid response is underwater, reports of chemicals deployed already.

As others have pointed out, the ratio of feds (with more arriving) to residents and square mileage here is extreme compared to what we experienced in Chicago.

We are in freefall.

1) The Fourth Amendment requires a warrant that must be:
•issued by a judge or magistrate,
•justified by probable cause,
•supported by oath or affirmation, and
•must particularly describe the place to be searched and the persons or things to be seized,
but
2) they have guns and just might kill you.
Hey @deborahahrens.bsky.social or anyone else with specialized knowledge: I have now seen multiple videos of ICE and/or cops telling people that insisting on a warrant before allowing them to enter your home is obstruction of justice.

Is this true under any circumstance?
