The tomb of Karin Månsdotter, the only Swedish royal spouse from a peasant background and one of just three not belonging to the nobility, will be opened for the first time in over a century. The purpose is to study the remains from a medical point of view. She is buried in the Turku Cathedral.

Now we only need Trump to arrest half his cabinet on corruption charges and we’ll be really doing Chinese governance with American characteristics.

This reminds me of the Swedish officer I saw on the bad place saying he didn’t worry about the US invading Greenland because he’d “seen American soldiers trying to ski”
Interesting episode thought it would have been even better if it had not ended in the terminally America brained opinion that Europeans should not be allowed to invest in their defence sector. Not sure when this was recorded but it is a spicy take less than a week from the US threading to invade.

Tuchmans histories are fascinating, not because they are good but because they both actively harmed great power relations and also arguably helped prevent WWIII. True historian as a historical actor without even aiming for that.
