If you have the time and energy to do this you have the time and energy to clean your own bloody apartment.
A couple hid 100 mini plastic ducks around their apartment for a cleaner to find to "ensure a job well done." bit.ly/4qEKWrz

Now we only need Trump to arrest half his cabinet on corruption charges and we’ll be really doing Chinese governance with American characteristics.
TikTok is already cracking down on opinions and images that diverge from the Trump regime narrative.
This morning, I recorded a video on TikTok about why DHS’s arguments for the power to enter homes without judicial warrants in immigration cases are bunk.

Nine hours later, TikTok still says my video is “under review,” and can’t be shared.

Well, here’s a link:

As I wrote regarding the threats to Greenland, Republicans say these deranged things because that’s how they get their kicks.

It’s one thing being told (politely or rudely) to do more for your own security - or even being abandoned by the US.

It’s a completely different thing that the US is now actively acting in ways that threaten or decrease European security, not only on Greenland but also by accommodating Russia

This reminds me of the Swedish officer I saw on the bad place saying he didn’t worry about the US invading Greenland because he’d “seen American soldiers trying to ski”

Interesting episode thought it would have been even better if it had not ended in the terminally America brained opinion that Europeans should not be allowed to invest in their defence sector. Not sure when this was recorded but it is a spicy take less than a week from the US threading to invade.
NEW EPISODE: Prof. Austin McCoy @austinmccoy.bsky.social and I sit down to talk Bill Clinton, betrayal, and the good ol’ boys club. Yuck.

Organized Chaos agents- what is this, a bad Black Library novel?
Emmer: "The people you're seeing in these videos, the vast majority of them I do not believe are from Minnesota. These are organized chaos agents, paid agitators. The vast majority of Minnesotans that are talking to me appreciate that law enforcement has arrived, and they are happy they're there."

Tuchmans histories are fascinating, not because they are good but because they both actively harmed great power relations and also arguably helped prevent WWIII. True historian as a historical actor without even aiming for that.
A lot of good ones but not one that has actively harmed relations with the RoC.

Guys I’m Swedish so I’m an expert in weird faux neutrality but I still have to tell you this makes no sense
Ok, this made me chuckle.
58% of Swiss say: “I would like neutrality to be interpreted in such a way that Switzerland can join a defence alliance such as NATO if the threat increases.”

Which is a hilarious question & position as joining NATO is the end of neutrality.

the Stancil thing really does drive home how much greater import some people place on having a completely correct billfold of opinions than actually doing something worthwhile in real life

A key point here in an excellent thread by @maxbergmann.bsky.social:

Continuing with the grovelling strategy, distasteful to the European publics from the start, would likely have a domestic political cost to European leaders. It’s time for a strong response now. Enough is enough.
Trump tariffing countries over Greenland is a test. If Europe just swallows it and tries to move on, it increases the odds of the WH thinking it can seize Greenland without consequences. Europe therefore has to respond.

Euro publics have had enough and want their leaders to push back 2/
