with HUGE content warning for graphic violent descriptions (no images or videos) in this article - this is a good summary of how what we're seeing on X isn't even the worst of it, with Grok.

Grok Is Generating Sexual Content Far More Graphic Than What's on X
A WIRED review of outputs hosted on Grok’s official website shows it’s being used to create violent sexual images and videos, as well as content that includes apparent minors.

I also took control of Russia, and then the servants took Ukraine, and I said to myself "you know what maybe I do need those resources" and so basically I am cyber Putin now and wondering how little it would actually take to make me do atrocities

I definitely got that vibe too!

“The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.” - conservatives' favourite book
For those keeping score, Bellingcat, The New York Times Visual Investigation Team, & Washington Post's Visual Forensic team have all published analysis showing the ICE shooter wasn't in the path of Renee Nicole Good’s vehicle when he shot her, contradicting statements by the President & his cronies

They haven't agreed to a peace deal, they've agreed to put boots on the ground to enforce any future peace deal, thus making Ukraine more willing to negotiate (and reducing the likelihood that Putin would immediately violate any deal).
But yeah, lots left to do.

this bears repeating:

Grok is bad because it's creating NONCONSENSUAL sexual images of real people.

Not because sex is icky and should be scrubbed from the Internet.

The distinction is crucial at a moment when dangerous censorship legislation is bipartisan and widely misunderstood

Experts don’t lose public debates because they’re wrong. They lose because they’re hard to hear.

In energy, complexity without a clear takeaway gets ignored. Simpler, louder stories take its place.

My latest piece is about starting with clarity and then layering nuance.

If you can’t be simple, you will be ignored
This title is an oversimplification. That is deliberate. In a world shaped by shrinking attention spans, overflowing news cycles, and…

People here in the USA will be walking into gas chambers saying, "keep talking about the Epstein files" as if there isn't any sort of other thing to do.

What's wild about this shooting in Minneapolis is the video is widely available, you can see for yourself exactly how she is steering away from the officers like she's about to drive away from them, and yet all the propagandists are out there still lying through their teeth.
Like... We can see it!

Supernova is worth a watch for the sweet and tender relationship with Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci, but it's probably a bit too sad for me to put in the 'cozy' category

Armed communist militias in Venezuela are stopping people and searching their phones for anyone supporting the US kidnapping of Maduro.
So all that talk about freedom and the celebrating expats was probably quite premature.

Bluesky is very customizable and isn't gonna hold your hand like some of the other algorithm ones. Good start is to search for and follow some feeds, where someone has done the curating for you and brought together all the ppl you need to follow on a particular topic

Entire regions of the country effectively disenfranchised by Russian presence. The military unable to guarantee safety for those who actually wish to vote.
Zelensky has said he'll hold elections as soon as the war has ended. Let's make that happen.

... at polling booths like sitting ducks?
How about the military? Do they all get pulled back from the line to cast a ballot? Postal votes?
Apart from the constitutionality of it an election during wartime would be unfeasible and catastrophically swayed.

How exactly do you think elections are gonna work in Ukraine right now? A fifth of the country is under occupation. Do those people not get a vote?
What about people who've been sent overseas as refugees? Election offices in Poland and the UK?
Does Russia stop bombing them so people can line up ...

Look into the Victoria police connection to neo Nazis. Look into Advance and their connection to the Nick Fuentes style US Christian nationalists. Look into CPAC and all the folks spewing barely disguised antisemitic conspiracy nonsense.

I think there's a massive opportunity for albo in all this.
An RC not into the shooting but antisemitism in general.
And set the terms of reference broad enough that we get alllllll the right-wing dipshits who've been closet antisemites with their dog whistles and stuff.

A reminder that the US killed 80 people in Venezuela, and it would be nice if the US media cared enough to think that the life of a grandmother in Caracas whose building is destroyed by a US bomb matters as much as the life of a person in the US.

Not died. The 1.2m casualties figure you're quoting includes wounded and captured as well. KIA is probably closer to 400k.
