Reminder: ICE has a budget bigger than most militaries around the world.

It has increased its spending on weapons by 700% since Trump took office.

Trump is building his own personal military to terrorize American cities, trample on civil rights, and intimidate his opponents.

I think it was the separation of academia from social media. Academia would emphasize that issues like racism or sexism were primarily systemic, while social media would elevate non-academics using the language of social justice but having interpersonal feuds or focusing on individual offenses.
have seen some folks mention or contemplate that there were parts of “Woke 1.0” that were inept, too much, ham-fisted, etc. Without putting anyone on the spot, has anyone more concretely described what, exactly, they think were the inept or too much parts?

I really hope our allies don't make the mistake of thinking they're bluffing.

My response to them:

Did you know that a Constitutional Republic is a specific type of democracy? When you say, "We don't have a democracy, we have a Constitutional Republic" it's like saying we don't have a car, we have a Prius" or "We don't have a dog, we have a Corgi."

Sounds pretty silly, huh?

Read this about Trump and Epstein with girls at Mar-a-Lago young enough to be in training bras.

Trump and Epstein literally bussed them in.

This should be read on the Senate and House Floor.

I keep saying this but no one is connecting the dots. The war is to satisfy legal preconditions for mass removal *domestically* of Latinos (i.e., suddenly a lot of people are going to be “Venezuelan” for purposes of removal). This is 100% Stephen Miller…oil claim is to make grandpa go along
There is no national security logic that would impel the US to want to do regime change in Venezuela. It's simply not that important. I'm not even sure wag the dog is the right metaphor for what's happening here. Seems like an insane misallocation of US national security assets and attention.
Trump: "Venezuela is completely surrounded by the largest Armada ever assembled ... It will only get bigger, and the shock to them will be like nothing they have ever seen before — Until such time as they return to the USA all of the Oil, Land, and other Assets that they previously stole from us."

I'm not sure most folks are aware of the immense magnitude of loss this would entail for the global weather and climate community, and beyond. NCAR has played a greater cumulative role in advancing weather prediction and atmospheric modeling than perhaps any other single entity in the world.
