Fifteen minutes into Anaconda and I really think the world needs to move on from Jack Black. Watching him now makes me so uncomfortable. Almost cringey. Watching a man in his 50s still trying to keep up the schtick he's had for decades.

I know I say this every six months, but if you can’t imagine how working from home might make some people more productive, you have basically never progressed from being a schoolboy, and do not understand that a lot of workers derive motivation from something other than the fear of punishment.

One lesson from the Epstein–Mandelson affair is that we need to stop routinely rehabilitating political careers after serious scandals.
When politicians knowingly engage in grave ethical wrongdoing, that should permanently end their political careers. Being "talented" should not override that.

Reading a chatbot's output isn't tutoring. This is adding an extra tier to an already divided educational system. Humans for the lucky few. Gen-AI bilge for the masses. Everything you're doing is falling for the Silicon Valley grift.

I think at this point the UK has accepted Paddington as the Death Bear, collector of souls. So, I think as a nation we should start smearing marmalade on the eyes of the dead and whisper “fare for the crossing”. It’ll feel weird now but, in three of four generations, no one will question it.

I keep thinking “my god the people they’ve killed seem like exceptionally good folks” and I think the lesson there is that they’re not exceptional, but that wonderful people abound and that a baseline distrust in humanity is a shitty conservative trope that privileges power over collective strength

I'm a total sucker for a Life is Strange game. As much as I didn't want a half assed sequel to the original game and would rather have a True Colours sequel I can't help but be on board for Max and Chloe.
