Every time someone opens their mouth to hype AI, just google “name of person/company invests in AI” and you’ll *always* find something. Every time.

This is something we should think about across all writing intensive fields. Even if you're using the AI to turn notes into drafts, you are offloading the kinds of creative and epistemic decisions that drive the organization of your writing to a machine.
Thinking about the many decisions that get made when you turn your notes into a draft and what that looks like when the bot is making all of those decisions, even if you get the "final say" after the decisions have been made. www.cleveland.com/news/2026/02...

every time someone says 'we could not do this without AI' I think, 'really? Cos I'm retty sure we used to.'

If children were more politically active they would be quite pissed to be told that their screen time is “the most urgent public health issue” while the largest measles outbreak since the vaccine sweeps their schools because of conspiracies that the adults in their life believed from social media.

Love this from Russell Tovey.

"I’m really following what the Green Party are doing, and I think we should all get behind them. As a community, they’re a party that we can really look to, to represent us.”

I used to be terrible for forgetting present occasions but for years now I am GREAT at gifts because it is an area where I allow my impulsivity full rein. If ever I see something and think “x would really like that” and I have the funds, I GET IT.

Taking an anti-vaccination stances against a treatment that saves the life of ONE IN FIVE HUNDRED KIDS and has no verified deaths involving healthy recipients is not just anti-science and anti-logic, it's evil. I have studied this disease too extensively to soften that word.

It's just evil.

It's easy to be concerned about vaccines when you stop being concerned about viruses. You can only stop being concerned about viruses in a world with vaccines.

One. In. Five. Hundred. Kids.

Those seem like good odds, but are they really? Especially when you add in making the surviving kids suddenly vulnerable to every other opportunistic germ coming down the road?

In real life, one in 500 kids who catches measles will die. And because measles is an asshole, some of them will die six to eight years later, of untreatable, incurable neurological conditions left as a parting gift by the virus.

One of the funniest things about Hideo Kojima is he’s the most famous auteur in video games, heavily influenced by films in his approach, and when he posts about going to the cinema, it’s always like “Just finished watching a screening of the latest Minions film. What a gift to the culture!”

A prominent journalist at The Sun, John Kay, drowned his first wife in the bath in 1977. They paid for his defence. He continued working for them for decades, was promoted continually, and twice won reporter of the year. When he died in 2021, guess what the papers didn’t mention in his obituaries?
In 2005 Rod Liddle was arrested and accepted a caution for assaulting his pregnant girlfriend. He continues to have a career in journalism because the British press is fine with violent misogynists.
Reminder that Rob Liddle said he couldn't be a teacher because he would try to rape the kids

Desperately looking for anyone in Scotland to foster a 2 year old female cat named Bambi. Incredibly affectionate and friendly. Indoor-only. Whether temporary (a few weeks) or longer term.

She's going to be put to sleep otherwise -- due to a heart issue that won't affect her for another 12 months

Also, boys like getting flowers too! And in fact may be extra touched that you thought they would.
As a florist’s daughter, I hate seeing, ‘she doesn’t want flowers’…. meme. I promise you nobody is unhappy to receive a bunch of flowers, be that daffs, tulips or a few picked from the garden any time of the year.

Really proud to be the LGBT+ Trailblazer of the year.

And so proud of the real trailblazers - like my boyfriend - who works in palliative care.

Our NHS workers, our teachers, our cleaners.

The people who keep our country running.

And LGBT+ History month matters. Representation matters.
