the fact that they immediately blocked me when i suggested they be the whipping boy instead of trans people or palestinians kind of proves my point imho

When you’re a UK trans woman, you roll invisible dice every day before work. All sixes, and a coworker with billionaire money will take your employer to court over you, you will be on the news, and when you leave the country, men with abuse allegations against them will call it a victory for women.

tbh the people on here making a point to yell at people to get behind Newsom right now years out of the Dem primary are transphobes who like yelling at trans people - it's as simple as that
Again, all I'm asking is that any Democrat who wants my vote support 1. Reverting Trump's anti-trans policies, 2. Commit to fighting against the future erosion of trans rights, and 3. Support legislation codifying trans rights into law.
Very weird how many of you centrists think that's unreasonable

Hillary Clinton on illegal immigration: "Migration went too far. It's been disruptive and destabilizing. It needs to be fixed in a HUMANE way with secure borders that don't torture and kill people."
The whole "how dare you ask politicians to market themselves to voters" thing is frustrating cuz no one actually believes this. What they really believe is that politicians only need to market themselves to moderate Republicans.
If I'm wrong about that, well that's worse. You get how that's worse?

If you're in the Stop MAGA at All Costs crowd, (c) is the only thing here that is an actual demand. (a) is a matter of basic dignity, not voting for a candidate who thinks trans people have too many rights under Donald Trump. (b) is necessary for anyone who believes in undoing this presidency.
Personally, if someone like Newsom (or any candidate, really) wants my vote, he'll need to make clear that he a.) won't give an inch on attempts to further roll back trans rights, b.) will at minimum return us to the (still bad) federal policies of January 2025, and c.) support the Equality Act.

I recently started using a cane. I recently started listening to my body tell me when its too much. It's actually been telling me that a lot, now that I know what that sounds like. I feel like I can do less, compared to when I was forcing myself past my limits, but I'm more comfortable doing so. 🧵

The problem with election discourse is that "vote blue no matter who" scolds and "the lesser evil is still evil" puritans have both been loud and active in every recent Presidential election cycle. So both sides can claim that they've never been listened to.

Still living this life after almost 8 months. A professional I know who works almost exclusively with trans people said almost all of them are unemployed.

there is an employment crisis among trans women and there always has been, but good luck getting people to see it
"its hard to talk about a complex and multi-faceted subject that's also one of the most hotly debated topics on the planet that potentially touches many aspects of everyone's lives" yeah man this is the About Forty Words app. why're you trying to do all that on the About Forty Words app
Once again: people are angry for very good reason, and this brand of post is perhaps one of the most tedious and bewildering. Practically every social media platform is rabidly pro-‘AI’ so are govts, academia, companies. This one small space being critical of AI is okay, I think.

Vote scolding (very often against people who actually vote!) has been the preferred cudgel for online liberals experiencing cognitive dissonance for years now because most know they can’t defend Dem leadership on the merits but they still wish to absolve the liberal tendency of any blame whatsoever.

I believe in voting. I vote in every election, local/state/federal, against the Republican candidate, every time. I never wanted to start any shit with liberals. We all need each other. But that's the rank and file. We can & should expect better of our electeds than "The answer is Vote Really Hard."

In the middle of a moral panic about sex trafficking so intense that I can't advertise a book about medieval history online and no one can access prom anymore, Labour's best and brightest are desperate to get on TV and let you know actually it is fine if rich people do it to poor girls.
"People like me, people like Pat that come onto programs like this are going to be supportive of people that we have worked closely with"
Asked about Pat McFadden defending Morgan McSweeney keeping his job yesterday, Baroness Jacqui Smith accidentally says the quiet bit out loud

I unironically love how Ocarina of Time was a Link to the Past prequel, got followed up by multiple timeline-diverging sequels, and then when asked how the old Zeldas (including LttP) figured into the timeline split Nintendo was like "they came out before anyone beat OOT, so Bad Ending timeline"

The actual purity tests that Kamala Harris failed were by the people who social media brainwashed into fearing a politically correct communist takeover. And the reason she lost is that we got into a place where those irrational fears got to decide an election.

You have to love how many of the people whose opinions are taken seriously on matters of politics and culture seem to be ignorant of their own ignorance.
To be fair, this kind of thing can happen if you've never actually talked to any women.
