I have such a pessimistic take on the Epstein file vote, I won’t even post it.

I just wish people who think this is the silver bullet to end the current administration were more analytical.

GenAI can never truly create art because humans create art to communicate with each other, and a computer has nothing to say.

GenAI should offend all artists and people who appreciate art because it’s mimicry, funded by talentless hacks who hate artists.

Apparently the film contains 42 uninterrupted minutes of Jake Sully trying and failing to start a fire with flint. Every time a family member tries to help him, he says “Shut up-shut up-shut up, I know how to do this.”

Someone tried to talk down to my direct report today.

They sure changed their tune when they saw me coming down the hall. I guess the look on my face was all it took, according to my direct report.

1984

I complained to my Grade 10 English teacher it didn’t have a happy ending. He said to me “But he loves Big Brother.”

That’s when I understood that a good story doesn’t have to have a happy ending; it should inspire emotion and have an impact on the reader.
performative reading, lack of reading skills, nobody's reading anymore -- NO!

tell me about a book that changed you

for me? the *extremely* ahistorical novel, THE AGONY AND THE ECSTASY which I read at 13 and was like, "Oh, art can be *everything* to a maker, for good and bad"

Look, the film opens in Heaven with James Bond stealing an angel's wings after strangling the angel with harp strings, then he throws a halo at the pearly gates to keep them from closing all the way, he flies out sideways and finds himself back on Earth reincarnated into a royal corgi.

It's easy!

Don’t expected the artistry and richness of “Prey”. This is a simple, action/comedy that could have been a little shorter. It has a lot of late 90s easy viewing popcorn vibes. Go in with simple mindset and the film will be enjoyable.

It gets a 3 out of 4 from.

M: *sips some baubon from a fancy glass* Your predecessors were all good people and top agents. Remember that.

NEW BOND: I will. *raises their glass* To all those that came before us.

James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Reminds me of when I saw a Citrix demo for thin clients and it showed Microsoft Office applications being used by the operator without issue.

The tech next to me leans over and says "Those were special apps developed to run smoothly inside of Citrix. The reality is that it is all shit performance."
Incredible stuff on LinkedIn. Cofounder of AI notetaker says they told early customers that there's an "AI that'll join a meeting.” But it was really just him and cofounder joining & manually taking notes. No AI. Comments flame him. He posts reply trying to kind of walk it back. Overall: Total bait.
