It’s wild that there’s not a constant media drum beat to get this guy out. It’s how you know mainstream outlets like what the administration is doing and are willing to put up with an insane tyrant to get it.
It's a good commentary on 2025 that the US President announces a major military attack on a foreign country and even the straightest arrows think, 50% chance it's an attack, 50% chance president is on another cognition bender.

Not only was it OBVIOUS Trump was lying when he distanced himself from Project 2025, but the media went so far as to call Harris a liar for making the connection. Which means either mainstream media is at best entirely incompetent, or worse, complicit in covering up a lie. Doesn’t matter which.
A long way to say, “He lied to the voters.”

If you’re rich you can literally tell the NYT anything and they’ll believe it. They just believed this lie in NY like a month ago.
Billionaires are considering cutting or reducing their ties to California by the end of the year because of a proposed ballot measure that could tax the state’s wealthiest residents.
A Wealth Tax Floated in California Has Billionaires Thinking of Leaving
It’s uncertain whether the proposal will reach the statewide ballot in November, but some billionaires like Peter Thiel and Larry Page may be unwilling to take the risk.

It’s an unmooring realization to have but nonetheless. Wait professors are fucking stupid? The star NYT writers are dumber than dirt? And both are usually evil on top of it?
You know how in almost every profession people who work in it go I used to look up to these people so much then I got into the field and realized they were all fucking dog brained assholes who guzzle piss and shit? That’s as true for academia and journalism as anything else.

Just so you know, the Atlantic thinks you shouldn’t report on anything without government thumbs up. Good to know their reporting is worthless.
Bari Weiss was right about how to improve the “60 Minutes” CECOT report, Graeme Wood argues—but her “drama-detector, so refined when seeking out news stories, seems to have failed her when avoiding it in her own newsroom.”

The Bari Weiss hysteria continues. Exactly what in "this piece isn't ready" and "try harder to get comment from the administration" constitutes the death of American journalism? www.theatlantic.com/ideas/2025/1...

Me yesterday, seeing WH desperately try to spin the Epstein doc dump into a story about Bill Clinton even as the Justice Dept fails to release all the files: “No way this will work, even with the horrible DC press.”

Me, today, looking at these headlines: “Welp, I’m a dummy.”
December 20, 2025 at 10:41 PM
The frustrating thing is it’s gonna work. By the end of next week every major media outlet will have confirmed “Trump nowhere to be seen in Epstein files. Guess he’s innocent.” And that’ll be it.
This is the shit that'll get them. We already have footage that all the public has seen (even the dopes) & photos of them together. A smart crook would leave a few photos/emails/notes in the files to show that what contact he did have with Epstein wasn't as bad as others, but instead they do this
i’m just going to assume the 90% of pages that they blacked out is ONLY donald trump

This is a surgical dismantling of yet another dumb Matt Yglesias argument by a former clean energy exec and current Representative. This is the sort of thing that should make people stop listening to people like Yglesias.

Read the whole thing.
This Yglesias piece in the NYT is horrifically bad. Almost every "fact" it cites is provably false. At best it is cocktail party banter from a pundit who knows nothing of energy. At worst, it was cut/paste from oil industry talking points. So, a rebuttal: www.nytimes.com/2025/12/18/o...
