Those 8 Democrats are not “weak,” to their corporate donors, they are incredibly strong.

Corporate money in politics is the problem.

Tonight is a glaring reminder that gerrymandering this spineless party into power isn’t a viable fight for democracy.

It further erodes democracy while allowing Democrats in Congress to have even less of a backbone.

Fight for fair maps.
Organize the working class.

For years, I’ve criticized the Democratic Party.

This is why. Not due to hate, but out of love for the working class.

This version of the Democratic Party at the federal level has enabled a genocide, refused to hold a robust primary in 2024, and is now caving on healthcare. 1/2

To reopen the government, 60 votes are needed.

However, it only takes 50 votes to change the 60 vote rule.

If the GOP is serious about opening the government, they should vote to end the 60 vote rule.

The American people sent a VERY clear message this evening.

The GOP needs to reopen the government and stop hurting the people.

AND STOP GERRYMANDERING THE DAMN MAPS.

Democrats need a vision that centers the people. It’s why @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social is going to be the next mayor of New York City.

Any leader in the Democratic Party standing in the way of progress needs to go.

It takes 50 votes to abolish the filibuster.

If Republicans really wanted to reopen the government, they could abolish that.

They don’t because the filibuster allows both parties to get nothing done and blame the other side.

I am extremely proud to support my good friend Jan-Michele Lemon Kearney, Vice Mayor of Cincinnati, for re-election on Nov. 4th.

The reason 42 million Americans are on SNAP is because employers aren’t paying living wages.

SNAP benefits are cut off, but the White House is building a ballroom.

Out of touch.

MAGA voters on SNAP deserve to eat.

The American people do not want war and we certainly do not want nuclear war.

It is our duty to stand against authoritarianism and advocate for democracy in every moment.

If federal workers have to go without a paycheck and Americans are having SNAP benefits cut off, members of Congress who can’t keep the government open should not be paid, either.

Over the weekend, I joined the Boycott Target D.C. Coalition on the picket line in front of one of the busiest Target locations in the U.S.

We are not backing down. We are still not shopping at Target. peoplesworld.org/article/turn...
Turner vs. Target: National boycott leader joins D.C. coalition on picket line
WASHINGTON— “Diversity, equity, and inclusion is a worker’s rights issue,” declared Nina Turner outside one of Target’s busiest D.C. stores on Saturday, Oct. 25.

The cashier at Family Dollar should be able to pay rent and bills with their paycheck. That’s not radical to believe.

Before the Democratic or Republican parties existed, the main fight in America was the fight for Black liberation.

The parties have since be defined where they stand in that fight.

Republicans: “Get ready for Trump to get a 3rd term”

Democrats: “Let’s hold a press conference”

The Democratic Party is spineless.

It’s damn near a year after the party got blown out by the Republicans and the party still can’t even commit to Medicare for All, despite over 80% of Democratic voters supporting it.

In fact, the party still doesn’t have a platform!

Healthcare costs are about to go up next year.

We need Medicare for All. Every American deserves healthcare that doesn’t bankrupt them.

Target doesn’t care about diversity and they don’t care about their workers. Target Corporation donated $1,000,000 to President Trump in January and this is the result - an economy of bigotry.

If you work at Target, organize. If you shop at Target, stop.

Workers deserve to be valued.

Target will lay off 1,000 corporate employees and close 800 open roles — affecting roughly 8% of its global corporate workforce — the company said. https://cnn.it/47EQBXB
