Ripping this off from many (directly from @tomewing.bsky.social): in 2025, I play to a new-to-me record a day. Partly to prevent year-end listening being so clogged (AGAIN), partly just because I keep finding myself going "I should play more records" and doing nothing about it. Thread to follow.

(not a show but) having a good ending in big two superhero comics is exceptionally hard due to the nature of the beast, and the way @kierongillen.bsky.social actually concluded Kid Loki's story in Journey Into Mystery still sticks with me

they're saying the weather (very overcast; drizzly; what little snow there is, is melting) and circumstances (slept through all my alarms, woke up after 11 with a headache; took a sick day; about to nap) are "extremely choke enough coded"

The extent to which Games Done Quick has helped to steer the larger speedrunning community - one of the most hardcore video game enthusiast subcultures there is - into becoming something so welcoming, inclusive and supportive astonishes me

By the way I am constantly saying that in a certain way everyone who isn't a fascist is on my side I'm just criticizing my side, but that's always ignored. We've moved from "both sides are bad" dem/rep to "both sides are bad" left/lib and it's exhausting. It's not a legitimate position, we know this

Reading Chotiner interviews with people who actually know what they're talking about is interesting because you realize his main skill is not "gotchas" but just like, facilitating effective communication. when that runs into someone who's used to dissimulating they get humiliated.

I don't recall off hand who made the point about AI being, more than anything else, a machine for displacing responsibility. That increasingly looks like its most reliable feature
This is a thread of major media outlets falsely anthropomorphising the "Grok" chatbot program and in doing so, actively and directly removing responsibility and accountability from individual people working at X who created a child pornography generator (Elon Musk, Nikita Bier etc)
