Hey look! Good news.

In an early, small, trial, a new gene-editing drug reduced cholesterol and triglycerides in high-risk heart-disease patients.

Early. Small. But still.

An experimental gene-editing treatment shows promise for permanently lowering levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, possibly helping cut the risk for heart disease.

I keep bringing it up but Julia Ioffe’s fantastic feminist history of Russia discusses how men in Russia basically saw any decline in their station as a personal affront and reacted accordingly (by drinking and doing nothing else)

A historic turning point for clean heating in Europe: For the first time, in the first half of 2025 sales of heat pumps in Germany have surpassed those of gas boilers.

This is a big milestone, demonstrating that the transition away from fossil fuels in our buildings is not just a future ambition.

And people wonder aloud why we are at the point, where liberals will vote for a guy with a nazi tattoo.

Even the center is getting fed up with the charade, hence grabbing some of Trump’s Teflon is preferable to (social) media purity standards.

Anyone reading this potential cave by Dems on the Government shutdown as “poor strategy” or Schumer’s failure is living in a professional wrestling scripted fantasy.

Dems know a “Repub promise” on healthcare is bullshit.

It’s not just Schumer.

The Dems job is to cave,
come up one vote short,
get blocked by the parlementarian,
mired in committee, etc

It’s why large Corps, billionaires & foreign countries fund thrm.

If they didn’t cave, lose, come up short
the Corps/billionaires wouldn’t give them a dime.

I love that antisemitism has gotten too popular so Kanye is pivoting to kabbalah by way of a convicted felon.

Also Lebron did it first. Find your own dodgy rabbi!

Can Zohran Mamdani's largely educated, middle-income support base be explained - or even justified - from a Marxist perspective?

Grateful to spend two days on the Klamath watching chinook, liberated by dam removal, return to streams from which they’d been precluded since the Titanic sank. Fish are everywhere, in numbers that stagger the mind & locations that biologists figured would take years to repopulate. Too beautiful.

On the other site, an 18-year-old Zohran canvasser described the legendary Wallace Shawn as "the actor who plays Dr. Sturgis on Young Sheldon" which is honestly adorable

I'm pro-union because I think workers should organize to balance the power that business owners have in various negotiations. It's true that unions have been weakened, but it's not because of multiculturalism. I would argue, it's because people seek to exploit divisions for their material interests.
