The reason populist leaders connect with people is because they get angry, they shout at their opponents, they feel the suffering of their supporters. Starmer is an automaton, an affect so flat that it comes across as insincere when he talks about being moved or upset by something.
At political cabinet today, Morgan McSweeney gave a presentation on “three Es” on how the government can connect with voters - emotion, empathy and evidence.

Am told he said the government currently has a “deficit in emotion”

All those threads where ppl wish harm on entire states during natural disasters cuz they're all muttering about the voting institution..
This was always one of the intentions of eugenics and social darwinism. To sabotage ppl so they could reinforce confirmation bias of going "survival of the fittest" all pompous in response to orchestrated burn out.
Capitalism drives ppl to burn out by exhausting the mental resources of workers.

Example. When environmental violence is morally bypassed by wider society embracing contempt for anything Indigenous and eugenics. That's a avoidance tactic that amounted to success for the intended outcome.

The consistent patterns show that avoidance is a very important component of moral bypassing. (And compartmentalization of atrocities which dominant society, very often does)

You can actually criticize Maoist China and Stalinist USSR without claiming dead Nazis are poor innocent victims of Communists, like this; the ethnic cleansings, agricultural mismanagement, and gulags and executions stand on their own and I promise you the US was and is worse in all of those regards
You want data on the millions Stalin and Mao killed or starved read a fucking book or watch contemporary news reels. You sound like an idiot.

Some people think I have an obligation of sisterhood to trans women who softpedal genocide and imperialism; such an obligation to piety for these knaves perverts such a sisterhood into a vulgar nationalism. Of which I have no interest in.

I admit, I get a little tired of being told that the rise of fascism is the fault of everybody except the people who voted enthusiastically for fascism, argue for fascism right now, and only regret fascism when they take splash damage from all the fascism they wanted.

Peasant mindset at play. Rammstein wrote a song about increasingly hegemonic Amerikan cultural imperialism two decades ago, but everyone prefers their conspiracies because they forget the rest of the world lives in the global economic system we built through empire.
it is not evidence of a conspiracy that the kidnapped venezuelan president was seen in one of the most common clothing brands in the world

This just isn't true, it's the other way around. When Republican representatives don't do what they want they get death threats from their voters, and so they vote the way they want their increasingly reactionary base wants. Democrats do not do this, because they're cucked.
Republicans are very good at telling their voters what to believe. Dems say “what do our voters think?”, as consultants, and then get it wrong.

Fortunately we have an existing model for conflicts between NATO members, which is *checks notes* ...selling loads of weapons to both sides and hoping everything works out.
“Greenland will be defended by NATO” ~ German Foreign Minister, live television.

Well, the good part of NATO ...

That this man still wields significant political power after confessing that he runs everything past his imaginary friends is perhaps the most American thing I can think of.
Chuck Schumer rejecting out of hand the one point of leverage he has, the one that was actually working really well last year until he caved, is the most Chuck Schumer he can be.
