@kizzythechemist.bsky.social Help, chemistry question!!
Reducing Venlafaxine by removing beads from capsule & weighing. GP suggested paper funnel to get them back in, but the little fuckers seem to stick to the paper with ?static.

Would I get static with plastic? Would metal be better?

Just three months until our woodlands look like this!

Winter is long, dark and grey. Spring welcomes longer days and warmer weather - something I am very much looking forwards to!

Here’s a few captures from the past few years, highlighting the springtime bluebell blooms in British woodland.

Let the dandelions grow! They support over 50 insect species, and are a great early season food source for pollinators like bees, butterflies, hoverflies. No need to mow and please don't use weedkiller!

Definitely giving off weird ancient log vibes today.

Somehow I managed to sleep through 3.5 hours of alarm, woke with terrible sleep inertia, unable to feel face or limbs.

Slowly evolving into mossy horror.
What forest feature do you most identify with?

1. weird ancient log
2. dark malevolent fog
3. sentient fungus colony
4. misunderstood mossy horror

“What’s with the clipboard? And the staring?”

“Must be Birdwatch weekend.”

“So they just... watch us?”

“No. They, er, count us.”

“Oh. Humans are weird, huh?”

They entered the water, and instantly two more herons -equally as beautiful - joined them and stood just beneath them in the black, polished water where they fished, all day.

'Still, despite the obvious advantage of combining distributional, telemetry, and tracer data sets, empirical and statistical studies that do so remain rare in the literature.’

'Like every other child born precisely eleven years ago on the last Eventide, when the clock struck midnight she would die - the eleven short years of her doomed life complete; her curse finally fulfilled.'
