Child: 'I don't think I've ever had Marmite.'

Me: *Searches up image of Marmite jar

Child: No, we don't have that, but we do have mango chutney in the cupboard. Is it like that?

I've not come across these particular Hookland, and yet again, just right somehow...
Day 3 of #HooklandChristmasTree decoration. We take out the Dudman and Sackling Child. No-one remembers who made the scarecrow's twists of clothed straw, the stuffed potato sack of prophesying infant. Best we put it on a back branch lest we hear it whispering of tomorrow’s woes.

Watching Father Ted’s a Christmassy Ted and remembered this nugget of pop trivia, the priest with the most boring voice Father Fitzgerald (Sean Barrett) in Ireland's largest lingeree section was the cover star of The Smith's single "How Soon is Now" a still from the 1958 film "Dunkirk".

Today so far at work:

A child thought Madame Tussaud's was Madame Two Swords. Which is excellent.

Another one made a jam and Ritz cracker sandwich. Which is differently excellent.

My day has peaked.

Deserted buildings and buildings being deserted. Hookland sliding into the spaces in-between.
Goodnight from The Dominion cinema in Ashcourt, where half the audience has left after the first 10 minutes of ‘The Dead Watch’. Goodnight from the Welcome Rest roadside restaurant at Northway Corner, where the lights have suddenly turned on despite it being abandoned since 1973.
