The really funny part is that the hate for Clinton came from her daring to try to reform healthcare in the 1990s.

And then 25 years later when she runs for President, the debunked right wing lies told about her get regurgitated by the left because she beat Sanders in the primary.
So many crickets tonight on both sides of the aisle.

Do y’all know how many republicans & democrats based their HRC hate on Epstein bs?

I gotta give the GOP credit. The $Billion they spent over the better part of a decade to trash the Clintons was well $ spent.

On this Epstein stuff, just a reminder that multiple contestants in the Miss Teen USA pageant - to repeat, TEENAGERS - said that when Trump owned it, he would walk into the dressing room so he could watch them changing clothes

All I see on Blue is..

"Tear down the Democratic Party."

No one is saying "Tear down the party that has ushered in Christofascism with their Project25 agenda, who has starved children domestic and abroad, who is kidnapping people, who has made life in the US unaffordable."

I guess the GOP is ok.

& instead of anyone pointing out any of this or how Thune betrayed Trump by not nuking the filibuster as he’s been repeatedly asked to beyond not controlling his MAJORITY caucus, beyond this CR not even passing yet, my feed is nonstop Schumer-bashing when he didn’t even vote for it as a heat shield.

My neighbors have missed 3 paychecks. And some still have to go to work. There were no good choices. But forcing senate repubs to pass a bill that reduces harm and that the house has to also pass is a net good strategy. Some of y'all have never had to deal with rock-and-a-hard-place / harm reduction

Republicans: Fuck the ACA

Democrats: You won't let babies starve just to take away health care

Republicans: The hell we won't
Republicans: Sue to force people to go hungry

Democrats: Well, fuck. We can at least get hungry babies fed
Democrats: Vote to feed babies

Bluesky: FUCK THE DEMOCRATS

So, Dems are being reasonable, Johnson is still letting people starve so that he can raise our healthcare premiums.
In the most predictable development ever, Mike Johnson is not committing to hold a House vote on ACA subsidies

"Ultra-processed foods" is an ill-defined category and people should stop using it. Any grouping that puts baby food, wholegrain bread, or granola bar made of four raw grains/nuts and whey protein in the same category as spam and deep-fried Mars bars is nonsensical.

Here’s your daily reminder that, about a week ago, the president straight-up admitted he had no idea who he was pardoning—only did it because his sons told him to.

There’s a lot going on, but I still think that’s one of the biggest scandals in the country right now—and the media is just silent.

I have no interest in arguing because "someone is wrong on the internet." We all have better things to do than that, and I've discovered that no one's mind is changed that way.
I am looking to talk to people, and converse. And compose clever witticisms and bon mots.

The number of people in the last 18-odd hours who’ve told me as a federal employee (contractor, so I have no guarantee of backpay) some version of, “well, you’re already fucked, so just take one for the team” has been really eye-opening.

And not in a good way.

I think the disconnect here is that a lot of people who weren't affected directly by the shutdown did not, in fact, want the shutdown to end, and would have been mad about anything short of Trump resigning in shame and Bernie Sanders, or someone chosen by him, being named the new President.
Of course they wanted the shutdown to end. We all wanted to shut down to end. If your theory of political systems doesn't account for airlines having the opinion that they should continue to sell goods and services wait until you hear about other associations of interests like political parties.

In other words Senate Republicans saw the results this week & opted to throw Vought under the bus to preemptively protect themselves for a few months & opted to betray Trump by negotiating instead of nuking the filibuster like he keeps demanding & they could’ve done at any time to end the shutdown.
The RIFs language is actually great. Not only does it rehire the people RIFed during the shutdown, it makes it an unequivocal Antideficiency Act violation to do ANY MORE RIFs through the duration of the CR (Jan 30)

Completely stops Trump/Vought Phase 2 for now

Would love to see this standardized

Not ICE. Border Patrol. They’re wearing Border Patrol uniforms with clear Border Patrol patches on them.

There are many videos of ICE officers doing outrageous stuff but a lot of the absolute worst videos are of Border Patrol, who are basically Bovino and Miller’s most aggressive tool right now.
ICE agents in Chicago violently detain a non verbal autistic man for being “non compliant”

He couldn’t “comply” because of his disability…they don’t care

This is not the first time they’ve gone after a disabled person

They target the most vulnerable because it’s an easy way to meet their quota
