2026.

I will draw, even if it’s bad.
I will draw, even if it’s challenging.
I will draw, even if it’s been done before.
I will draw, even if it’s imperfect.
I will draw, even if someone else is better.
I will draw, even if I have much to learn.

I will draw because it’s fun.
Because I’m human.

It is entirely possible Venezuelan oil reserves aren't worth anything.

Clue: They have the world's largest reserves, but produce 1M bbl/day to our 13.5

Their breakeven price sucks and their crappy oil trades at a discount.

My whole life, advocating war has been fed to me as “the adult position,” akin to drinking your coffee black or reading the business section of the newspaper. Let’s be very clear — war is the childish nonsense of impulsive destructive idiots playing baby-brained video games with real human lives.

*If* this was just a coup intended to put Delcy in power, it may functionally be pretext for the U.S. to "switch sides" from the Venezuelan people (represented by exiled opposition leaders) to the Venezuelan dictatorship (now represented by Rodriguez).

Maduro is not a Putin or a Chavez. (Or a Trump, for that matter.) He's not some machiavellian genius or charismatic autocrat at the center of a personalistic regime. He's a former bus driver who inherited a consolidated autocracy built by Chavez. He's a front man for a mafia state.

In offing Maduro but leaving the rest of the regime untouched, Trump has effectively just forced the mafia state to switch spokespeople.

Cue Delcy. Who, unlike Maduro, is often considered to be a very sophisticated political operator and in many ways has been the key regime functionary since 2013

They’re against democratic legitimacy, which is premium-grade legitimacy; but they’re against nationalist legitimacy, communist legitimacy and even royalist legitimacy. They want to rule unaccountably, and they are opposed to any theory that could hold them to account.

Timothy Snyder has mentioned how Russia and other autocratic states blatantly stealing elections or holding sham referendums are meant to make a mockery of the democratic process and any country or leader who endorses them or their results contributes to delegitimizing it as an institution
Okay here’s an actual take: the fascist international is at war with the very concept of legitimacy.
Their messaging is so fucking incoherent. Maduro was an illegitimate leader who lost in 2024, which is why we're replacing him with his VP instead of the person who won in 2024. We did this to stop fentanyl, which is why he's indicted for cocaine.

We're also occupying Venezuela via Zoom call.
