Flush with success at dismantling student confidentiality in schools, the "parental rights" movement is now dictating government policy that will violate the privacy of young patients.

A food scientist making claims that people should be drinking raw milk should not only be persona non grata to reputable media outlets; his academic institution should be looking into whether his communications endanger public health.
Here is my latest. Sylvain Charlebois, Canada's beloved commentator on the food industry, thinks that not giving us access to raw milk is communism.

How do you fix journalism?

Fucking pay for it.

Stop complaining about paywalls and subscribe.

The rise of right-wing media is because the rich funded it. The fall of legacy media is because the rich funded it and then decided not to.

Is it just me, or are the people who are pushing raw milk and whole milk the same people who insisted for years that all milk was bad, except for breastfeeding very young children? The health woo people are apparently untroubled by cognitive dissonance.

Whenever I've written about oil and gas property tax arrears in the past, people emailed me asking why I didn't name the companies. The answer is that this information wasn't public and difficult to obtain. With this story we're releasing the tax debts of hundreds of companies /1

Trump can always find a way to make a weird situation even weirder.

She keeps getting chances to show some loyalty to Canada -- and keeps turning them away in order to defend Alberta separatists and their cause.

It's who she is. It's time we all started saying it. #cdnpoli #abpoli

Yes, Danielle Smith is a separatist
Alberta's premier says she supports "a sovereign Alberta within a united Canada." Her actions tell a much different story — one that makes her position on the issue impossible to ignore.

If you're a parent with a child in one of the grades where you are sent the CBE assurance survey, I would encourage you to rate yourself "Very Dissatisfied" on the health curriculum and library services, based on the change to opt-in for human sexuality instruction, and the recent library book bans.

Reminder: journalists get arrested in Canada too.

In fact, The Narwhal is in court right now challenging the RCMP for arresting photojournalist Amber Bracken. Our editor-in-chief,Carol Linnitt, testifies today and Monday, and court is open to the public if you're in Vancouver.
Carol Linnitt, co-founder and editor-in-chief, provides an update on The Narwhal’s court case against the RCMP. Amber Bracken finished cross-examination late Jan. 28. It took more than 12 hours.

Two years ago, private companies were lined up to build new renewable energy powerplants in AB, w/ ZERO subsidies from the AB government. We led the country by a wide margin.

Then, oil lobbyist Danielle Smith happened.

First to last in just two years.

Thanks, Dani 😞.
