The impact of ICE operations saturated every aspect of the day in the schools outside of Minneapolis. Dozens of parents were in custody. Hundreds more had decided school was too risky and enrolled their children in online classes.
This small school district kept losing students to ICE. So it mobilized.
Outside of Minneapolis, the five schools in Columbia Heights have taken an aggressive approach to protecting the immigrant families of their students.

The EPA said on Thursday that manufacturers would no longer earn a credit for installing engines that automatically turn off when vehicles come to a complete stop and restart when drivers take their feet off the brake pedal. The start-stop feature is meant to save fuel and reduce emissions.

When the MAGA standard is “I don’t care if the numbers aren’t precisely right,” you’re telling every future strongman that all they have to do is lie with a smile. This is how a party becomes a personality cult and how authoritarianism takes over.
Like a true Trump cultist, Fox Business News' Larry Kudlow opens by saying they don't care if Trump lies about the economic numbers, as long as he's optimistic.

"I don’t care if the numbers aren’t precisely right. The optimism is precisely right."

Breaking news: ICE expects to spend $38.3 billion on its plan to acquire warehouses across the U.S. and retrofit them into immigrant detention centers that can hold tens of thousands of people, according to agency documents.

Many people in South Africa, where Elon is from, died to create a genuinely multiracial polity. They were killed by people who thought like Elon.

The people who thought like Elon also lost. Seems their “common culture” of white supremacy wasn’t enough.

1/3 What Musk is really referring to here is, of course “race” - that construct that served to define the hierarchies of wealth & power structured by modern colonialism. Like other far right racists though, he uses the word “culture” as a seemingly less pernicious synonym.

Whatever your specific policy priorities and preferences may be, wherever you think the public interest should take us, we can’t and won’t get there unless and until we …

"Some of the sharpest applause came when Conway warned that legislation alone would not constrain Trump. 'We can pass the ‘Everything is Better’ bill… And he’s going to ignore it... He is not going to obey the law, because he doesn’t. He’s a criminal, and we have to put an end to [his presidency]."

It really is amazing how much of political punditry, *especially* elite outfits in NYC and Washington, still embrace this bizarre idea that rural spaces represent the "Real America" while metropolitan areas, where most (presumably real) Americans actually live, should be held in contempt.
Just going to point out again that our arbitrary political rules permit Republicans to attack urban areas with impunity but strictly forbid the faintest whiff of condescension toward rural areas by Democrats
“The first thing I thought was, ‘What is she talking about?’” said Bryan Fish, the vice mayor of Culver City, whom everyone calls Bubba but doesn’t look like someone whom everyone calls Bubba. “The only crime here,” he added, “is like the $18 strawberry at Erewhon.”
