This morning the wind blew in with cabin-rattling thunder and lightning (far off shore but still enough to boom). It rained heavily and then the clouds blew by and now it’s sunny with a rainbow! What a lovely sampler pack of Oregon weather. Merry Christmas!

My kids are teens now, and for the first time ever, we planned to fill stockings early in the morning when they are reliably sleeping rather then try to wait them out at night. But we both woke up at 2:30am so Santa happened to show up early. Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night.

But it reminds me of the year we cut down our own tree and apparently also brought home a spider egg sac that hatched out in the warmth of our house so we were relaxing in the living room and suddenly there were 10,000 tiny baby spiders everywhere.

My Christmas shopping is DONE done and now we just have to wrap the final gifts. Normally we’d finish earlier but we are at the beach so we did a day of local business shopping to get our last bits and bobs. And wrapping is usually done tonight or Christmas Eve while we watch a movie.
