The smug righteousness of liberals - who support a party that has backed in every single expansion of US militarism and state repression - is a cancer. We need solidarity and class consciousness, not preening superiority.
We shouldn’t have to be putting ourselves in mortal peril to keep the federal government accountable. Slightly over half of the American voters made us do so, though. Thanks for that, by the way, American voters.

The Adelaide Writers Week disaster shows just how vast the gap is between the elite consensus (Israel is good, Arabs and Muslims are expendable, political contestation is unpleasant) and the rest of us. It's insane to me that we continue to allow these people to keep their power.
Australia is a colonialist project operated for the interests of a mostly white cabal of Israel/US-aligned elites. Any tendencies towards more egalitarian or anti-racist positions are kept in check by a media class that policies acceptable thought. This has never been clearer than at this moment.
