We've only been aware of Trump's racism since a 1973 article about his real estate company refusing the rent apartments to black people, the first ever mention of his name in the NYT. That's why his Obama meme comes as a total shock. Who knew?

I can't express how much ancient art is just people making lil guys.
i think we all need to step back and realize that peak art was made when neolithic pot in the shape of a pig was fired

That's like still thinking you can win at 3 card monte.
Do you people think there are $5 bills wrapped around bars of soap?
Are you buying maps to the Lost Dutchman's Mine?
Do you really think there was a coin behind your ear?

Honestly, something could have been done about shit stains like Gaiman and Whedon a long time ago.
Stories were out there.
Instead we got "NO! We like those pests! They said a thing we liked that one time! It's okay when our fave does it!"
Until the cries got so loud you couldn't ignore it.

Spoiler for this thread, Isaac Asimov was a sexpest.
Why don't they say anything?

Well, because when it happens to YOU, if you say something, that's frequently the ballgame. You get driven out of your community; you get to see what the people you thought loved you look like with the masks off. And way, way too many of them are monsters.

Piers Anthony wrote a book justifying child rape and literally corresponds with convicted child molesters in prison.

There’s separating the art from the artist, but I would never allow any of his books in my house. I will not be sad when he dies.
I remember Kilobyte by Pieres Anthony being a big deal because A) cyberpunk
And B) Girl Protagonist that wasn’t a sex object…

It is fun sometimes to take lies at face value. For example, it would be a scandal if a random staffer has access to post anything they want on the President's social media, it is basically giving the access to the biggest loudspeaker on the planet, and would be ripe for potential abuse.
