anyway my brave take is that Bluesky isn't really working because you just can't launch a text-based social media platform in the era of Big Video And Picture Slop and expect it to flourish, most people don't really want to type or read

Over 70% of US active PS5/XBS players played at least 1 of the top 10 live service games of the month during January.

More than 40% of all time spent playing on PS5/XBS in the US during January went to those same top 10 live service games.

I don't want my appliances to be connected to the internet. I don't want them to have blinky lights or touch screen controls or be accessible by phone. All I want is for them to do the one thing they are supposed to do, and to beep less.

Hear that, manufacturers? Less beeping.

As we do digital battle with antisemites, just want to recommend Talmudic Insults and Curses by Arthur Helft. Full of excellent sayings applicable to trolls who say they know what’s in the Talmud, but in reality wouldn’t know a karmelit if they fell dick-first off a roof into one.

one thing that I love about parenthood is that there is a universal bond around ridiculous shit you do to entertain your children

we are at swim class for the five year old and my wife is going around like a kangaroo while the seven year old chases her gleefully and no other parents even bat an eye

Theoretically, I know how to make fabric out of a pile of wool or other fibers, and I've done each of the steps individually, but I could work for a week and end up with a somewhat lumpy misshapen piece of fabric the size of a handkerchief. And I'd need some wood and something sharp as tools.

Had to send a support request to OpenAI via Twitter bc their support options are garbage and because I used the word "hack" in it, I got 25 replies in under 2 minutes for account recovery services, including 22(!) for the same business.

I like it when people complain that Satine singing her lungs out moments before dying of consumption in Moulin Rouge is unrealistic because of course everything else in that film is so very grounded and down to Earth.
