His name was chosen by a close family friend, Lynn, and from the very beginning, Coby was full of life, curiosity, and energy. Raised in Springfield, Coby grew up surrounded by family and faith. He was a busy, inquisitive child with a bright smile and a personality that drew people in. Known for his humor and playful spirit, Coby was a natural jokester and a fearless daredevil, always willing to try what others would not. Even when he fell, he would get back up laughing, undeterred and resilient. Coby loved to read, especially books about history, with a particular fascination for ancient times and the era of sword fighting. He had a thoughtful mind and enjoyed asking questions, especially about the Bible, often surprising adults with the depth of what he had absorbed simply by listening. One cherished childhood memory recalls a young Coby, no more than four or five years old, declaring in protest while being sent to clean his room, "I'm going to Candace's house, where my yoke is easy and my burdens are light," quoting scripture he had heard in church. Church played a central role in Coby's life. It was a place of excitement, learning, and belonging. Music came naturally to him, and he especially loved playing the drums, a gift he developed while growing up in church. He also played football and enjoyed being part of a team. Though his behavior was often misunderstood, those closest to him knew Coby to be deeply sensitive, protective of his family, forgiving by nature, and capable of loving fiercely and wholeheartedly. Coby faced challenges throughout his life, including mental health struggles that began in early childhood. Despite these challenges, he remained intelligent, expressive, and hopeful. He wanted more out of life, a job, a family, stability, and purpose. He longed to build a future and to be understood for who he truly was. Above all, Coby loved his family. He shared a close bond with his mother, Druesilla Brown, who understood him deeply and stood by him unwaveringly. When Coby laughed, he laughed freely. When he cried, he cried to his mother. And when he loved, he loved hard. Shacoby "Coby" Kenny leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Druesilla Brown; his sister, Caribbean Brown; his father, Julius Kenney Jr.; his siblings, Kasia Taylor, Jaron Kenney, Jordan Kenney, and Julius Kenney III; his maternal grandmother, Leola Jackson; his paternal grandmother, Shirley Hall; his paternal grandfather, Julius Kenney Sr.; his aunts, Geralyn Brown and Felicia Brown; and a host of cousins, extended family members, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Willie B. Brown, and his uncle, William "Bill" Walter Brown. Coby will be remembered for his laughter, his curiosity, his musical talent, his bold spirit, and the undeniable imprint he left on the hearts of those who truly knew him. Nothing to see here, just the Oklahoma DOC flying drones over prisons. "We’ve mapped the entire facility; it knows what and who should and should not be on our yard.”

(Granted, one of my favorite abolition wins was a plane dropping condoms in a yard in the 90s.)
ODOC will be working alongside Skydio and Levatas, who will supply unmanned drones and AI, which will be used to alert staff of any potential safety, security and maintenance problems. “The autonomous drone platform provides for continuous eyes around the facility. It will give data to those who can take action quickly and provide a deterrent for future cases,” said Levatas VP of Success Adrienne Zarn.
