The fear of being ugly (even) if you transition is so real. Many people fear this (and its cousin, not passing). If you are able to transition, you might be "ugly." But you might find being ugly as yourself is better. Right now you feel ugly, and have to feel ugly as the wrong gender. Twice as hard.
