They also repeatedly thanked Donald Trump in effusive terms. It was not until reporters pressed for numbers, towards the end of the press conference, that officials began to share the valuable information sought out by the public. Commenters watching the live feed expressed frustration at the lack of information in the first 25 minutes of the event. "Quit talking about yourselves relentlessly," one commenter said. "Most useless conference!!!" another commenter said. "Get to the point that matters to us the people of texas," another said. Much of the statements from Abbott, Noem, Cornyn and Roy focused on praising their own efforts, thanking Trump and the White House and encouraging people to pray. "Prayer matters," Abbott said. To add to this: he won because he not only LISTENED to voters about affordability concerns, he had PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS that weren't bullshit trickle-down economics or pandering to billionaires.

I’ve heard Mamdani give versions of this line before but it’s worth repeating that his winning strategy was talking to actual human beings who might vote for him, versus some mythical voter democrats are trying to swing from the right who does not exist.

Mr. Mamdani has had a staff of five people - you're now going to run a staff of 300,000 employees. He's never dealt with the city council, he's never dealt with the Congress, he's never dealt with the state legislature, he's never negotiated with a union. He's never built anything.
