Having a video go viral is a chilling reminder that there are humans out there just choosing to stumble through life with zero curiosity and a lot of anger. I'm really thankful to have found (and/or founded!) communities that try and leave the world in better condition than we found it.

The problem with Big Podcasting is they’ve identified the uh charm of the medium is listening to people you like having a semi-unscripted chat, but then when you introduce big egos of course they also want to be on camera in addition to not wanting to do any prep or be edited at all.

Talking to one of these types at a con who asked how I 'got in' with so many 'famous writers' who I'd been talking to and I said "we made friends before anyone knew who we were decades ago by striking up interesting conversations and enjoying each other's company" and he kept re-asking the question.
They have come to the convention hoping to "break in" and then find themselves -- shocker! -- a "nobody in the book world." Yeah no shit! We all are! I have gently told guys like this a million times that it takes most of us *years* of hard work but they do not believe that could be true for them. +

ultimately i find this attitude disrespectful to the games at the end of the day. went and found my old posts and yeah this all still applies lol
i think this attitude is ridiculous and palpably insecure, wherever it is found in games. its all over. why is it so important that your achievements in video games be proof of a superior mindset? maybe you're the fake gamer after all. a real one would 1cc for the love of the game

the twitter ai image button isn't really a 'new' problem, it's a combination of two very old evils, tracing and photoshopping. Artists have been dealing with them for a long time, but what X has done is turned plagiarism and vandalism from a malicious act into a 'feature'. It's unspeakably cruel.
