It's interesting how the "generic videogame man" as an idea has evolved into an extremely ripped sleek guy with random greebled plasticky armor pieces all over the body, basically just like the 80s, just holding a HK433 tacticool assault rifle and lit like an episode of friends.

I do not know what makes Gamers think characters running around in tacticool shit with assault rifles is fun, rather than depressing

if your multiplayer game has a peak of like 100k players its fucked. its dead. give up now. if it has a peak of 100 players and isnt out of early access and most of the updates are from a community mod because no one knows what the devs are doing: it will live forever

Watching Raocow play the catplanet devs lineup from when they were like 14 to the current day is reminding me: I feel like a lot of devs, especially now, enter "magnum opus" mode when that isn't really a healthy way to learn a craft.

It is insane how inevitable this felt - that the industry has forced itself into a corner ensuring that every FPS team has to work on a competitive service shooter that has a 99% chance of crashing on launch.
Wildlight (Highguard) lays off staff according to a LinkedIn post

"Unfortunately, along with most of the team at Wildlight, I was laid off today.

This one really stings as there was a lot of unreleased content I was really looking forward to that I and others designed for Highguard."

It occurs to me that many people don't know about the GameFan coffee incident.

In 1993, GameFan published a manic 6-page review of the game Cybermorph that was written while tripping on LSD that somebody put in the office coffee pot

The review declared that Cybermorph was the first "real" game
