Okay, according to gamestar, a single grand campaign in Total War 40K consists of one solar system. That's a much more manageable scale. I was not interested in conquering the entire galaxy 50 times.

Yeah I think these two things are true
1. the dev team for E33 loves everything about JRPGs, and is deeply respectful of them.
2. Western gaming/game press used E33 being a JRPG with a triple A western aesthetic as an excuse to Do A Racism.
