I think it’s too early to predict the career arcs of any of the 2024 QB first round class. 4 out of the 5 have majorly turned their teams around and made the playoff, all of those playoff QBs got at least one win, and the only one not there hasn’t had a full starting season.

Honestly I’m being positive right now because I hate trash talk. I don’t want shit in these moments, so I don’t talk shit. So instead I’ll be positive that the Patriots overperformed my expectations and have a chance to get back there, and wish Seattle fans a fun celebration!

I mean I don’t think it did. I didn’t predict they’d win, I just was rooting for the team I’ve rooted for my whole life…just didn’t go our way. That’s just life sometimes.

I have hope this is more an early run than a sign he isn’t elite. I think he has shown he has all the ability to be an elite QB, he’s just been questionable in the playoffs, and that comes down more to the sudden rapid rise as a youngster than any bad sign.

That’s the thing, I am nervous this moment might’ve shot his confidence or showed that he couldn’t perform on this stage, but once I saw that TD pass…it’s hard to not think it’s more that he’s 23 and inexperienced. I think it’s up to how he bounces back, we’ll see where he is in 2 seasons!

On a positive note while I may be a Bostonian who was rooting for my New England Patriots, I do have a lot of friends in Seattle who root for the Seahawks so…good for them!

The fear for me as a Pats fan…is that they made it too far too quick and this might shoot his confidence. But even with an L, I can feel comfortable with his future if he can respond with growth from this moment. This cannot haunt him if the Pats want to not be a one year wonder.

Like Darnold isn’t playing great but he’s been very serviceable, and that’s mostly what he’s needed to be for this Seahawks team. I think we’ve seen better performances with more poise than this from Maye, he just seems shaken these playoffs.

Drake Maye absolutely looks inexperienced and scared in this game. Honestly has a lot of the playoffs. HOPEFULLY…this is just down to his youth and he can improve.
But I do worry for this possibly destroying his confidence permanently.

That’s the thing, I think logically Maye looks better in terms of maintaining the lack of turnovers, I think there’s tremendous room for growth into a GUY. Sam Darnold is similarly middling, but I think that’s more on his limitations.

I’m HOPING this is just because he’s inexperienced and young, and not a sign that he’s going to shrivel up at these moments. It’s too early to tell but it’s hard to not see that he’s seemed more nervous in the playoffs.

I don’t think you could argue either QB has been impressive so far, but I’m more disappointed in Maye because he has shown poise and power before, and he’s so clearly skiddish and playing scared.
