Something compelled me to make this

I didn't realise that was her surname at first, and I was going to make a joke about how if she'd been prevented from speaking at first, that the caption would have been "Ellie Sudo Chowns MP"
"We need to face the fact that the threats to public trust in our democracy... also relate to the structural weaknesses in the way we do politics in this country."

Thank you @elliechowns.bsky.social for making the case for fair votes.

The Elections Bill must include Proportional Representation.

So, a new low for Evri. They've just delivered me a *completely empty envelope* with the top edge torn open. It was supposed to contain four drawer runners.

Apart from the difference in art (the kids stuff radiates joy a life and the ai stuff is just dead on arrival) the kids experience something while doing it. That experience is communicated in the art too. Art isn’t just the end result.
The kids actually made animals that don't exist. The AI just put a bunch of stuff that already exists together into a polished slop blender. You can't get a better illustration of why AI can't create anything new while human creativity is bottomless.

Any way I can opt out of Bluesky feature updates? Perhaps with one of these?

Seems to work perfectly for the near 40 folks that work for my employer (myself included) and indeed, for the thousands of remote work only employers around the world.

Piss off Nigel, your bum’s leaking out of your manky face again.
BREAKING: Nigel Farage calls for an end to working from home and the focus on work-life balance

"People aren't more productive working from home - it's a load of nonsense”

Whatever you do JUST DON’T VOTE REFORM!

Honestly, it makes me sick just how difficult it is to get hold of anti-nausea medication at the moment.

For some reason this seems to think I'm deeply embedded in various UK music communities.
I made a map of 3.4 million Bluesky users - see if you can find yourself!

I've seen some similar projects, but IMO this seems to better capture some of the fine-grained detail

Someone made an actual album cover out of this and posted it in my replies, which was fine until I looked at their account and saw the amount of Turning Point USA shit they were reposting.

Ugh.
a photo of mine that would make a good album cover?

one sequel to Fat of the Land coming right up!

Given The Telegraph's obvious right-leaning bias, I would imagine that this should very much be taken with the largest of pinches of salt.
Leaked messages via the Telegraph from the Green Party campaigners that admit that they have “no actual policies” & “no one believes the graphs” because they are “dodgey”

If you want to stop Reform, vote Labour.

See also, every fucking tutorial ever these days. It’ll take me 60 seconds to read how to do the thing you’re going to drone on about for 15 minutes just to meet the monetisation requirements.

Hnnnnnnngh.

Had to say hello to Crumble when I popped into my ex-wife’s house to drop my stepdaughter’s stuff off the other day.

Crumble looks good for her age (16!) and still loves a fuss from her old lap-Dad!

As if by magic, the sun has come out today… when I’m too knackered to get out and enjoy it 😆

Ah well, have managed some jobs around the house at least.
Yay, another week of solid rain to come.

Sometimes I hate living in this country.

My favorite artifact in the "you don't need AI to do art" discourse is, of course, screenwriter Dan O'Bannon's sketch of the facehugger to explain it to Giger.

Farage was banging on about Turkish barbers, so these lads in Glasgow did this.

It's in Dumbarton Road, if you fancy a trim.

There's a setting that will remind you to add alt text if you attach an image! It's settings > accessibility > require alt text before posting an image. Have heard from a few people that a recent app update switched off this setting for them when they'd previously enabled it, so worth checking!
This place is getting much worse for alt-text recently! Include it for your own images and don't repost images that don't have it (except to add alt text yourself if you feel it's important to share it anyway).
