Really liked del Toro’s Frankenstein. Mood, cinematography, performances all great. Not sure what was added by changing the relationships between Victor, Elizabeth and the brother if I’m honest - bar making creature less vindictive. But! A very fab adaptation for all that.

I’ve stopped my Films of the Year threads I used to do on Twitter. Probably just as well, as after watching Gladiator II, I would be forced to perform an act of damnatio memoriae and expunge it from the official record. This film is bad. Baaaad.
