Pulled this real life mythos tome down last night to give it an overdue second look, and after waking up on the garage floor with my eyes bleeding, I gently put it back on the shelf to give it another go next year. 😅

First game of 2026 is back to Traveller tonight. My PC is a shady archaeologist who joined the crew a year ago while fleeing gambling debts. Since then it’s been mad scientists, ancient tech, and now running from corrupt corps. I’ve really come to appreciate the game and look forward to more. 🤘🏻😊🚀

I only played a handful of new-to-me TTRPGs this year but except for a couple of convention one-shots, we opted to play them long enough (>10 sessions) to get a good taste, which I really prefer. Plus, continuing a few years-long campaigns, which is also awesome! Here’s to long plays.

Looking back on my 2025 in TTRPGs, there were some truly heartbreaking lows, but it was also a year full of bright spots I am truly grateful for.

Reading a bit of a long winded rant and I believe the general point being made is that statistically speaking, most TTRPGs out there aren’t for you, but the trick is knowing the difference between “not for you” and “bad” when talk about them, because those usually aren’t the same thing. 🤔

My daughter got a TV from Grandpa for Christmas, and I finally got it mounted today. This was the very first thing she put on. No complaints here. 🤘🏻😅

Tonight’s DCC Caverns of Thracia: A portal has brought us to the lost ruins of Thracia. While camping in a ruined temple, my wizard drank from a basin, seized, and saw a dark vision asking for an offering. When she woke, the rest of the party was about to be beset upon by ghouls. Good times ahead.😅🤘🏻
