I have said it before and I will say it again in the coming week: @lostpages.co.uk and I are doing a talk at Dragonmeet about "making magic marvellous," and it's going to be fun. It's at 1430 on Saturday and if you're going to be there we would like it if you came!

Waves coming off the basalt columns at Reynisfjara black sand beach. It's amazing that the camera technology is so good now that this was handheld at 1/8th second - the columns are sharp but I was able to capture the movement of the water too.

Just potting up bulbs in containers for spring and double checking what some left over bulbs from planting in a bed a few month ago with google image search

The unwanted AI section insisted repeatedly they were charlottes which isn't great as eating daffodil bulbs will put you in hospital

This thread is glorious.
In Tesco’s this afternoon: an elderly Polish man at the self-checkout, trying to buy a pint of milk and a white radish. There is no picture for the radish on the machine. The assistant doesn’t know what it is. She asks a colleague: “It’s a white radish.” There is no entry for it on the machine.

UK folk, please vote in local elections whenever possible. Hereabouts, a Tory (formerly UKIP) County Councillor, elected with a 19 vote majority on a 42.7% turn-out, has been sharing quotes from Enoch Powell on social media, seemingly as valid points for discussion.

4 hours and not one comment has suggested starting a Hue and Cry to help Ben as he's Looking for Linda from the 1980s?

(Really Sorry I got ear wormed as soon as I read the post)
Ok Bluesky, let’s give this a go: I found this postcard in the back of a photo frame I bought at a London thrift shop.

It’s an unsent postcard from a woman called Linda to her parents. The front shows the Kremlin in Moscow and the stamp says 1984 (!).

I’d love to return it to Linda - can you help?

If you use GMail, AI (Gemini) was turned on yesterday by default and now scans all of your content for machine learning. To turn off, go to Settings>General and scroll down. Uncheck the box for "Smart features."

There's other "Smart" add-ons as well, but that's the one that reads your content.
