Yes... Iran.

#NoElbows
The reports of violence, arbitrary arrests, and intimidation tactics by the Iranian regime against its own people are profoundly concerning. Canada strongly condemns the killing of protesters, and urges Iran to allow for freedom of expression and peaceful assembly without fear of reprisal.

At least in the early 20th century, not really. The Liberals were the party of free trade and building ties with the US while the Conservatives were the classic Tories and devotees of the Empire.

The author of that piece is clearly deranged. He also has a knowledge of Canadian history which is clearly fairly broad but an understanding of that history that is unparalleled for its shallowness.

I am a pretty anti-nuclear weapons guy, but frankly I've reached the point where I think Canada should be seeking our own nuclear weapons and making a specific agreement with the UK and France to extend their nuclear umbrellas over us until such time as we have our own.

Let's fucking go.

Believe it or not, people in other countries can raise issues about their own country for their compatriots to discuss without it having anything to do with America.

I kinda love it when the Louvre posts good posts, not just the bad posts. (Posting the bad posts is also fun)

Not gonna lie, I was half expecting to hit "North Atlantic Treaty Organization" in the list.

Thanks for the response! I've seen multiple people be confused by this, and (unrealizing) choosing "none" for graphic media thinking they were avoiding sexual nudity, rather than videos like this.
January 7, 2026 at 8:42 PM
A suggestion (that maybe you can carry back in your new role?) would be that if "graphic media" is the label that is going to be used for this, it should be moved out of the heading for "adult content" in content filter settings, since it otherwise sits alongside adult content and nudity.

I do sometimes feel the risk of crumbling into dust when I think about how old it makes me that Fantasies is that old. It is definitely a parenting win to have teens listening to it now though!

ICE agents stopped by protesters after the shooting an observer in Minneapolis, according to witnesse. ICE deployed pepper spray and tear gas.

They were saying to the ICE goons at the location of, and immediately after, the shooting. It wasn't just words.

P3s are a scam to divert public funds into private pockets. They are legalized looting of state wealth and leave us with contractors who just refuse to provide any kind of public accountability when they don't provide the service they are so richly paid for.
An owner that denies problems. An operator that has no ability to fix problems. And a maintainer that just doesn’t respond to questions. Doesn’t seem like a great way to run a railroad. www.thestar.com/news/gta/why...

Truly! And the show was at the Garrison Common so a big, but not enormous, crowd.

Listening to Fantasies by Metric for the first time in a while and this album goes so hard. Gold Guns Girls is such a banger. One of the best concerts I've ever been was a 20th anniversary concert for Fantasies where Metric played the whole album in order.

Yes, 100%. The completely relatable way these characters change and grow is so good.

Which is super fucking real. For my money, that particular set of scenes is one of the ways you can tell that this show was made by a queer person.

And then the catharsis when it pays off in episodes 5 and 6 with Shane actually having someone else who isn't Ilya to talk to about being gay. You can actually see Shane springing back from that pressure.

I think it's charitable to say they don't understand. The reality is that the party is a bunch of quislings desperate to be the face of Trump's occupation government.
