the only good thing about this part of the horrible shooting story is that it may turn out to be a gut shot for the carcass of @cbsnews.com and that's great. and unlike the ICE goon CBS has real internal bleeding.

These people have the worst cases of Stockholm Syndrome! The answer to this should be, "You're a public servant. I expect you to answer my question civilly and without insults. If you can't, find me someone who can." What would happen? He'd get barred from these sham events? And lose what, exactly?
LEAVITT: Why was Renee Good unfortunately and tragically killed?

REPORTER: Because an ICE agent acted recklessly and killed her unjustifiably

LEAVITT: Oh, ok. So you're a biased reporters with a biased opinion. You're a left-wing hack.

I know people on Bsky know this but I hope it filters out: The feds are OCCUPYING the Twin Cities. This is a blockade, a siege. They are shutting down economic and civic activity. They are conducting "papers please" stops. They are criminalizing being a bystander/witness.

You could be next.

Requiring ICE agents to wear prominent identification is good. But a system of ”citizens should walk up very close to agents extending their phone to hold next to the agent” is a Dem-brained way of getting people beaten and killed under this administration.
Everyone can relax. Democrats have a solution to all this...

Rep. Ritchie Torres is introducing a bill that would require ICE agents to wear scannable QR codes linking to webpages with their names.

It would be a mistake to see Trumpism as authoritarianism imposed on an unwilling nation, as opposed to authoritarianism implemented in a nation with a plurality that is already made up of authoritarian bootlickers who created the context for Trumpism to thrive.

A few months ago, ICE hired me

I didn't sign and submit any paperwork. I almost certainly failed the drug test. I'm real outspoken about my opposition to the Trump administration, and I am extremely googlable

And yet, there it was, in plain English. "Welcome to ICE!"

“News organizations” are running the hell out of this story because they see their function not so much to report facts but to enforce social norms like “police officers are automatically deserving of respect to a degree it is newsworthy if someone is mean to one of them.”

Every single one of these mechanisms depend on truth to function, which means that none of them are working anymore

Weird to be commemorating the 250th anniversary of the Am Rev while living under a government that has a) sent armed troops to occupy cities perceived to be too rebellious, b) rendered largely irrelevant the representative branch of government, and c) claimed imperial right to rule other countries.

There have been nine ICE shootings. There will be more. I think it may be time to consider these actions in the historical context of the Central American death squads supported by previous iterations of U.S. imperialism. And ICE's hostile incursion into "blue" cities as a form of imperialism, too.

Billionaire ideology is so funny.

There are guys alive right now who had $2 billion in 2010, and have like $50 billion today, who somehow think that the entire economy will collapse if we tax them $1 billion out of the $50 billion.

Last week, we talked about one particular incident of vehicular violence on protesters. But where does the tactic come from? Who is doing it? And why?

Only certain types of people get to be husbands and fathers. Some people are simply civilians. Faceless, nameless and without consequence. Civilians die. It's what they do
The New York Times has just confirmed that 40 civilians died in President Trump's invasion.

Call me crazy, but if someone actually were trying to run you over, shooting them to death doesn't actually remove the threat. It just means their now-dead leg weight is still on the accelerator but there's no control over the steering.

These shootings are plainly retaliatory, and always have been.
