yes yes we all know about the Edmund Fitzgerald, rest her soul, but did you know about the ship laden with explosives that sank in the mouth of the Thames in 1944 and could explode at any minute and which attempts to disarm keep failing

for whatever levity is possible, here’s disco dave in the little hat I had to buy her because she doesn’t like her hair touching her ears, much like me her owner. I reckon she’s pretty cute.

Thousands of women have spoken up — not to argue, but to stand with those who are too often side-lined.

Join them by adding your name to the NION ‘Women in support of the trans+ community’ letter.

If you follow 10 trans people you get to hear about 10 different lifestyles, hobbies, and special interests.

If you follow 10 transphobes you get to hear the same transphobic moral panic from 10 different people, phrased the exact same way.

But trans people are the ones in a hivemind cult somehow.

Please contact your MP in support the Creasy Amendment, especially if you have an MP that actually responds to emails. Mine doesn’t read them but at least I good and goddamn tried!
Farage and the US Religious Right are celebrating policy wins here - and there's been a huge rise in prosecutions for abortion.

Please email your MP and ask them to support Stella Creasy's amendment to decriminalise abortion; we've made it so easy for you. action.goodlawproject.org/decriminalis...

This is a lot of cis women. So many times more than the largest GC protest you've ever seen. Why are these women not worth listening to?
Delighted to see our #NION letter gaining traction at 13.5k signatures. 25k by Monday?

I want to address a question/criticism I've seen about our wording.

To women upset that we describe ourselves as cis women and refusing to sign on that basis I ask you to reconsider. Please read on...

A year ago I found this glorious cat lost, starving, and screaming for help on a tiny lane in the middle of nowhere. We couldn’t find any owners after weeks of knocking on doors literal and internet, so she stayed. She’s put on a kilo, rules the flat, and had fish for dinner yesterday. Love you Twig

all of us or none of us 🏳️‍⚧️

cis girls for trans rights (because trans people deserve them, but also because woman as a category can’t be legislated and is instead shaped by each of us every day)
Last year my wife had breast cancer and a double mastectomy.

This morning, for the first time ever, she was challenged in the changing rooms at the swimming pool. Her breasts were not what make her a woman - but, breasts or not, she is entitled to dignity and protection from vigilantes.

First they came for the transes, and you said "Fuck the transes, they're weird"...

Remember, until a few years ago it was almost unheard-of for a woman to be charged with procuring an abortion. Now they have "new national guidance" on how to hunt them down.

www.theguardian.com/world/2022/j...
"Police have been issued guidance on how to search women’s homes for abortion drugs and check their phones for menstrual cycle tracking apps after unexpected pregnancy loss"

"...police could bypass legal requirements for a court order to obtain medical records..."

"An island of strangers"

When I was at uni in Bournemouth I lived above a kebab shop (glamour). Their lamb shish was 50% of my diet. The two guys who worked there and always asked how my course was going weren't strangers but didn't speak perfect English so presumably Starmer would send em back.
