There are no short cuts. I'm sorry. There is only long term, consistent, and disciplined organizing.

Holding the incredible tension of this time - Jason's inauguration for his current city council term was yesterday. AND his beloved uncle was kidnapped yesterday.

Let's help bring him home.
One of my uncles was kidnapped by ICE yesterday. He was always there for my family and even helped my family afford my graduation party when I graduated college. 💔

Anything helps. ICE has no humanity. Hard workers literally being torn from their families.

You've probably been following the story about fraud in MN. I wrote about the people who provide services who are being driven into bankruptcy, thanks to the Walz' administration decision to hire Optum AI to screen all payments. It's a disaster.
Perry: Trusted providers are being unfairly swept up in Minnesota’s fraud crackdown
As the state's new anti-fraud screening system went into effect, the Holland Center expected to receive $212,000 in payments. It instead received $22,000, David M. Perry writes. If nothing changes soo...

Emergency concert replacement possibility? I feel like fear of that might create an enforcement mechanism…. On the other hand I have never been a professional musician, so maybe not!

Us: 🎶Let earth receive her king🎶

Kiddo (age 8): “Didn’t we fight a whole war to not have kings in this country?? No Kings!”

Contact your reps.

Talk to your neighbors.

If you're out there keeping other neighbors safe, you can show up for these ones, too.

Can we stop anti-trans bills in the Senate?

Absolutely.

We stopped a sports ban, we stripped bad provisions out of the OBBB and a number of other bills. There's no reason we can't stop these care bans too.

But we will need to call, and engage and make sure folks know this is a priority.

Forward.

The ACLU of Minnesota and several law firms filed the suit Wednesday on behalf of six Minnesotans who say they’ve been detained or threatened by federal agents while lawfully observing ICE operations, including Susan Tincher of Minneapolis who was detained when she confronted ICE agents.
Lawsuit alleges ICE is violating rights of people observing immigration operations in Minnesota
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is facing a lawsuit, alleging its agents have violated the rights of Minnesotans who’ve been observing recent immigration operations in the state.

This is a great example of how Hennepin County as an institution is governed by the Hennepin County Board but the Sheriff is independently elected and HCSO doesn’t report to the County Board in any meaningful way.
This is good… but the Hennepin County Sheriff Dawanna Witt instructed/authorized officers to assist ICE with crowd control when they took two people from Karmel Mall on Monday 😢

Last week City Council unanimously strengthened our Separation Ordinance.

Yesterday, MPD helped ICE by doing crowd control while they kidnapped neighbors. Mayor Frey continues to let MPD use a loophole to work with ICE and only he can stop what residents witnessed yesterday.

This tracks with my experience. DHS made up stories like this in Chicago, too. Every story ICE told about being attacked by community members was debunked in court. To assume anything they say is even potentially credible is irresponsible and out of touch with reality.
Re: the ICE actions in south Minneapolis Monday. DHS said "rioters" attacked officers with rocks and pepper spray. Note: I received lots of evidence and didn't see any rocks, the only pepper spray I saw was ICE agents sometimes spraying each other. I did see snow and possibly ice being thrown. (1)

This whole thread is essential reading.
While it doesn’t go as far as providing the services & housing we need, this ordinance is a step towards transparency & accountability.

The bar is in hell & this is literally the floor. @angry-grandma612.bsky.social gave incredible testimony to this fact.
