Turn **Row 2:** sel s, [p1, k1] – repeat till the end, p1, sel s. Turn. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the ribbing measures 5 cm. Switch to larger knitting needles or continue working with the same size. The main part of the hat is knitted in garter stitch. **Next Row:** sel s, knit all stitches, sel s. Work 8 SC into the ring, then join with sl st to the first SC. (8 sts) **Round 2:** Ch 1, 2 SC into the same stitch as join, 2 SC in each stitch around. To join, insert the hook into the 1st SC, draw up a loop, yarn over with new (white) color and pull through both loops to complete the stitch. Cut the black yarn.
