The Kremlin disguised a nearly $100 mn payment to Trump in the form of a brokered real estate deal... and both Jeffrey Epstein and William Pulte were involved in the deal. That's very interesting.

To recap: Jeffrey Epstein offered a NY Times reporter photos taken in Epstein's kitchen of Donald Trump and girls in bikinis *and* implored the NYT reporter to put this information in the public discourse in 2015

What did the NY Times editors know about this offer?

Childhood sexual abuse is almost always something that involves family members or close family friends. Elaborate trafficking operations like Epstein's are much rarer, but they are kin to the more common kind, and many of his victims had already suffered abuse at the hands of people close to them.

Got turned down on a piece about ICE in Chicago for an international news org because they believed I couldn’t be objective about my neighbors getting kidnapped. And well, guilty as charged I guess.

Yes there's a lot of denial, but I've seen it: when it snaps, it snaps hard.

"Powerful men covered up child sex abuse" isn't outlandish when you've seen that happen in church, boy scouts, school athletics, and every other social pillar of your conservative middle-class life in the past few decades.

spoke with the executive director of my local food bank today and got this really incredible line: "if you donate 1 can of green beans, we can give away 1 can of green beans. but if you donate a dollar, we can give away 6 cans of green beans"

I'm so glad that KBJ delayed this ruling by extending the same pause on her own several days ago. As the pundits told us, it was a masterful strategy - one that guaranteed her Republican colleagues weren't the only ones to blame for starving poor Americans.

you cannot actually*know*a Republican in the Senate caucus by meeting them offline-just like a lot of women who end up in relationships with reactionary men don't really meet them on dates, because their real lives are on 8chan or whatever. You have to understand that online comes first to know them

In DC, the cowardice of Senate Democrats has undermined it, again

Assault. Plain as day.

We need to prosecute the criminal thugs working for Trump's DHS.

like, it's just in the nature of things that it's very difficult to fully fix everything all at once. Even when you implement good policies, they can take a while to take effect.

if we can't talk about things getting better when they get better, how do we keep moving towards better?

so, today I got the surgery center where I got my deviated septum fixed to send me an itemized bill so I could submit to my FSA for reimbursement

my out of pocket cost: $473

what my insurance paid: $4258

what they tried to charge my insurance (not a misprint): $173692
I was at an event yesterday where Rand Paul spoke via video and talked about how great it was to send ACA money "directly to the people" so that they could work collectively to get better deals on health care.

It’s such a bad idea, when one of his crimes was calling forth an insurrection, that he’s actually forbidden from holding the office by a constitutional provision, which a unanimous Supreme Court invented a way to turn off.
To repeat: Maybe electing a life-long criminal to an office where he can pardon other criminals wasn't such a good idea.

Whatever else is in the deal, agreeing to merely have a vote on ACA is a fig leaf. Even if it passes the Senate, it won't in the House, which also makes it an easy yes vote for the Senate Rs who might want to, defusing it as an attack on them.

It is a stupid ask even on Team Schumer's own terms.
