JUST IN: Bureau of Labor Statistics postpones key inflation data report
Bureau of Labor Statistics postpones key data report with no explanation
There is heightened concern about the future of key government statistics, including politicization and accuracy.

Incredibly moving. 1000s of Lithuanians lined the streets of the capital Vilnius yesterday to honor the four US soldiers killed on their soil.

As their bodies are repatriated to the US, their President will be nowhere to be seen, except on a Florida golf course.

Fitch Ratings on Trump tariffs: “This is a game changer, not only for the US economy but for the global economy. Many countries will likely end up in a recession. You can throw most forecasts out the door, if this tariff rate stays on for an extended period of time."

Piper Sandler: “The tariffs came in higher/worse than we’d expected, so we are lowering our 2Q real GDP estimate from 0% to -1%. And given where the big tariff hikes are concentrated -- China, Vietnam, Taiwan, etc.-- the risks to consumer inflation are much higher than initially thought.”

One big point amid all the headlines: I was texting with press secretary Karoline Leavitt during the event and she confirms that the 34 percent tariff on China is ON TOP of the previous 20 percent. So that means the rate on China will be *54* percent when these tariffs take effect.
