My kids have some friends over and they put on The State. Their friends asked what it is and I just heard my 13-year-old describe it as “a bunch of little videos but they’re not on YouTube.” Holy shit. 🤯

No one in the world should ever experience imposter syndrome again. The former president of Harvard was emailing Jeffrey Epstein from his iPad to be like “how do I sexually coerce my mentee?” and signed off with his twitter handle. You can pass your Chem final.

Stephen Miller for ICC 2028
In 2028 I will vote for whoever will send Stephen Miller to The Hague.
79-year-old Paul Bojerski was born to Polish parents in a WWII German refugee camp. His family legally emigrated to the U.S. when he was 5.

He’s been taken by ICE in Florida.

This is the kind of shit you get from a rich guy who doesn’t read books or have any real intellectual curiosity. Number 10–does the eye transmit information? The answer is yes, Jeff. You could’ve googled that. Instead he thinks he’s doing something profound.

"skin as part of brain?"

This is that great intellect people talk about?

It’s funny that Harvard has been a consistent target for reactionary campaigns, and not one has been dedicated to ousting Larry Summers, an openly political figure who was friends with Jeffrey Epstein; meanwhile, it’s a fine-toothed comb for *checks notes* Black women.

Hello @support.bsky.team

I heard from Sarah Kendzior @sarahkendzior.bsky.social that her account was suspended.

Can you please look into this and reinstate her account? She’s a published author and scholar on authoritarianism. Her presence here is valuable.

One thing that the Trump administration did by telling states to make half of SNAP payments is to make sure no payments were made: restructuring the payment system is just not something that can happen overnight. Strategic use of burdens to ensure the program did not function.
Becker: YOUR HONOR, the gov't complied with the order. We resolved all the burdens that the government is responsible for. We interpreted the order as us have to resolve all the issues on our end. We've been complying. We've released the entire contingency fund.

Ohhhh the losses on Tuesday night have the GOP in a panic and now the Heritage fucking Foundation is trying to launder its image to look more reasonable/moderate/not party to Trumpism. Jesus Christ, Washington Post.
This is the most insane paragraph I've read in a mainstream paper maybe ever

Heritage Foundation authored Project 2025. Russ Vought was VP at Heritage Action. What in the literal fuck are you talking about

In late 80s I was social worker in Houston working in Verification unit for food stamps. Made unannounced home visits to verify applicants were qualified &had reported all income etc. Unit was dismantled because cost more to run than were recovering. Very little fraud. So many myths/lies about SNAP
As SNAP hangs in the balance for nearly 42 million people, misinformation is rampant. Myths of laziness and fraud persist when we should be talking about too low wages for workers, income inequality, and our threadbare social safety net.

In this guest post, Adam Chandler sorts fact from fiction:
SNAP benefits feed essential needs while still leaving many hungry for more
Journalist and author Adam Chandler explains what so much of the conversation about them gets wrong.

Gotten a lot of comments/quotes like "they don't care, they *like* conflict!" or "they're psychos, they don't care!" The thing is: pretty sure virtually NOBODY, even the worst people in the world, can handle constant verbal conflict where they're the target. That's the point.
A lot of folks may think that just yelling at ICE agents is ineffective, but consider the cumulative psychological toll of being yelled at EVERY DAY when trying to do shit. Even the biggest asshole in the world who doesn't give a shit about other people will feel the pressure.
