WOW. So this is obviously a huge violation of this man's rights, and it illustrates a few things we're seeing broadly:

- DHS officers are ignoring peoples' IDs and instead requiring screening through their own systems
- Confirms @404media.co's reports of use of DHS's facial recognition app.

I dunno, man.

If I have to keep calling my representative and screaming at them to not vote for stuff like the Nailing Babies to Wolverines Act, and if I don't they'll vote to nail babies to wolverines, then it seems to me that person shouldn't be my representative.

115 democrats just voted to establish the first federal statutory definition of sex, which could now be used to

• charge fraud for using documents that misrepresent “sex”
• reverse all federal records gender markers
• sue a future gov’t for attempting to rescind trump’s anti-trans exec orders
As Trump drags us into an Iraq-style war in Venezuela, 312 members of the House — including 115 Democrats — just voted to authorize over $900 billion in military spending.

Having polluted air is a policy choice that is made at the municipal level. And likewise having clean air is a policy choice.
“Air pollution fell substantially as Paris restricted car traffic and made way for parks, people-streets and bike-lanes.”

Better for the climate, better for health, better for livability and quality of life.

Common sense.

Such a no-brainer, it’s remarkable that more cities HAVEN’T done the same.
Paris said au revoir to cars. Air pollution maps reveal a dramatic change.
Air pollution fell substantially as the city restricted car traffic and made way for parks and bike lanes.

so happy to see a judge order Kilmar Abrego Garcia immediately released

feels like a good time to refresh our recollection about the threats to everyone lurking under the administration's hyper-fixation on this one guy
By trying to convince the public that Abrego Garcia is a bad guy so he doesn’t deserve rights, conservatives are necessarily trying to get Americans to reject the principle that rights are for everyone, and not just the special favorites of the Republican Party

This has a parallel. Into the 2000s, police in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan would take Indigenous folks they found outside late at night on "starlight tours," driving them beyond the city limits, and dumping them there. They'd often freeze to death trying to get home.

He's just straight up lying. There's no way in hell he's that stupid, irresponsible, and/or delusional. He's far too close to – and knowledgeable of – ChatGPT to not understand how unreliable it is.

He's a lying, evil garbage person. And it's a shame (but unsurprising) Fallon didn't tell him that.
Jimmy Fallon: "And do you use ChatGPT when raising your baby?"

Sam Altman: "I cannot imagine figuring out how to raise a newborn without ChatGPT."

The thing to understand about "age verification" laws is that they are not just for kids

The only way to "stop kids from doing xyz online" using age-gating is to demand a government ID (or invasive biometric face scan) from EVERYONE.

This means associating your gov ID with EVERYTHING YOU DO ONLINE

it’s fun watching people see what trans folks have been warning of for years. the media has no capacity to inform about the politicization of health care
News media has to do better with headlines that present false and unverified public health claims.
