I thought this would be the worst of it until that one woman just birthed a clone of herself.

I think the only reason I didn't hate RoS even more than I do is because I'd already seen another series near and dear to me squeeze out a soulless, disposable product. The first time you see that happen is always the worst.

6: Living Level
The boss itself is your terrain, and you may fight other enemies as you climb all over and/or in it. The line between this and an actual level can be blurry.

5. Kaiju Battle
Fight the boss at a comparable size.

4. Rodeo
Hop onto the boss and try not to fall off while attacking it.

3. Disassembly
Similar to the weak point approach, but you take down the boss piece by piece, with the fight changing as you do so.

2. Weak Point
Most of the boss is nearly or completely invulnerable, so you have to navigate around it and exploit a weakness.

While there'd certainly be a lot of overlap, I'm thinking you can sort colossal bosses into different categories.

1. Pure Visuals
Little to no change in gameplay, the boss' size is purely for show. I think you see this a lot in shmups and turn-based RPGs.

Just returned from my first gaming convention, Magfest, where I had an absolute blast! Got to meet lots of awesome folks, including Woolie and Super Eyepatch Wolf here, and tried out a bunch of new and upcoming indie games. Hoping I can go again next year!

One of my #D&D characters: Mahna Farhiyath, a Drow bladesinger, and her familiar, Habba the flying snake! Dancer, scholar, amateur sleuth, and all-around good-natured but pesky little gremlin. #ocart
