"Something will have to be done about Mexico."

Less than a month after winning the FIFA Peace Prize, Trump is saying he wants to bomb a country he's co-hosting this summer's FIFA World Cup with.
absolutely bizarre to see a violent, rogue american regime, which is threatening military attacks on a bunch of major trading partners and close allies, and openly fantasizing about hitler-style wars of territorial conquest, covered in the tone of horse-race political commentary

I am about nine-and-a-half years from being able to quote this accurately. I've been waiting for this since I was 12 when he first did this rant.

And I will warn you all right now that from summer 2035 to summer 2036 I am going to be SO annoying.
Despite getting fired in September after this ad started airing, Consumer Cellular is still airing this Mike Gundy ad parodying his "I'm a Man. I'm 40" presser. It just popped up during the Holiday Bowl.

I will say, our high school newspaper in anytown New Jersey did write up an editorial endorsing marriage equality and recognition of rights of LGBT folks in the school and statewide...

But the school Bari Weiss'd it and blocked it from publishing even after it was printed and ready to hand out!
I do think it's funny that billionaires spent untold amounts of money and influence to turn CBS News into a propaganda organ and their chosen herald's big idea is to run the network like it's a high school newspaper in Anytown Indiana

We need a rule that you can only sponsor a bowl game if you make a product that the average American can buy.

Tostitos? Yes. Vrbo? Probably a little expensive but sure. Lockheed Martin? No, and let’s make sure their current products stay that way.

If they want to make toasters though, sure.
It’s so wild that companies like Lockheed Martin can sponsor bowl games

Some major accusations in here backing up the idea NYT has an anti-trans bias, in news too, not just opinion.

Suggests top editor Joe Kahn wanted an anti-trans series to win them a Pulitzer.

Bosses moved stories to writer Azeen Ghorayshi, whose reporting has often prioritized anti-trans views.
In this in-depth interview Billie Jean Sweeney — a former editor at The New York Times — details how the paper shifted towards openly promoting anti-trans hatred, why this was directed from the very top, how some staff pushed back and the immense damage done by the NYT legitimizing bigotry.

To a future Democratic president: take notes.
Mayor Mamdani has nullified every executive order issued by Eric Adams after he struck his corrupt bargain with Trump to secure dismissal of the indictment against him.

This year, I really jumped into sports photography. 📸

I went from messing around with an iPhone to genuinely being able to use a DSLR and I'm really proud of my work.

I've decided to rank my top 10 favorite photos of the year here (the one below just missed the cut but is still a fun one!)

Oh wow! One of the best keepers in the league (and arguably the world) is now on the market.

And San Diego could use a keeper or three.
Huge news for the Wave as the club and Kailen Sheridan mutually agree to terminate their contract together. The captain was signed through the 2026 season and the Wave currently have no goalkeeper under contract for the 2026 season.

There is now a *fourth* active professional soccer player from Hanson, Massachusetts!

The population is just over 10,000 and yet it has produced Smith, Kansas City Current star Ally Sentnor, and both Kristie and Sam Mewis, of US national team and now @womensgamemib.bsky.social fame.

I knew the whole “it’s Crosby/Ovechkin” stuff, but nobody told me there was also a Kelley O’Hara moment!

They seriously did it almost shot for shot.

Just went as a spectator, but some of my favorite snaps (📸) from the Wizards' win tonight against Memphis.

And somehow, the Wizards still won this game.

They are now 7-23, pulling them out of a tie with Indiana for fewest wins in the league so far this season.
Shortly after this, the Grizzlies started a 19-0 run.
Watching the Wizards tonight and they’re… good? Or at least, playing well?

It’s not even halfway through the third quarter and Alex Sarr has six blocks!

Apparently it is “Team Sprinkles,” consisting of Cherry and Cookies n’ Crème.

The third team member, Protein Slammin’ Strawberry, seems to have run away, refusing to join in his team’s suicide.
The toaster has been rolled out.

Donna Summer’s “Hot Stuff” is on.

And this year, not one but TWO Pop-Tarts have killed themselves in Downtown Orlando this evening.

It’s not genius if you can’t convert in the red zone!
Georgia Tech looked so stupid letting the clock run so deep in their own territory but that actually ended up being kinda genius.

I do still love the Yanks, but without the winning, they're just miserable and the whole "we hate fun and are serious" thing wears thin real quick.

Definitely spending a lot more time watching the ugly but fun football (and occasional bowling!) at the Go Bowling Military Bowl.
I really do appreciate that the Pinstripe Bowl is as joyless and bland as the New York Yankees
